A coastal city in Brazil. Kai arrives from Taiwan for holidays with a broken heart. A broken air conditioner sends her into Fu Ang’s umbrella store. He could become a friend, but the rainy season doesn't arrive and his shop disappears. While looking for Fu Ang, Kai discovers the story of Xiaoxin and a group of Chinese workers in a posh skyscraper. Kai finds herself strangely mirrored in Xiaoxin’s tale.

In the Wanli Year of the Ming Dynasty, marauders team up with spies in the imperial court to frame the family of Lord Qiu, Minister of War. However, the youngest daughter Qiu Moyan is rescued by the warrior Zhou Huai'an. Before his death, Lord Qiu hands over the Ming Dynasty's coastal defense plan to his daughter, hoping to entrust it to someone who could shoulder the important responsibility of saving the dynasty. In order to obtain the defense plan, the marauders hunt down Zhou Huai’an and Qiu Moyan. The imperial court also lists the two as the most wanted criminals. To protect the defense plan and the descendant of the Qiu family, Zhou Huai’an looks for Dragon Gate Inn’s boss Jin Xiangyu for help. For the love of her life, Jin Xiangyu hides the defense map in the inn and transforms the inn into a dragon ship that stays away from the martial world, protecting the defense map until the right time comes. Unexpectedly, Qiu Moyan accidentally falls into the hands of the marauders. At the same time, the imperial court also sends Xu Yi, a crime-solving expert, to the ship to arrest Zhou Huai’an and Qiu Moyan. With different agendas, several forces fight to the death on this strange dragon ship.

Matsuoka is a teacher at a culinary school. One day, a student, Tashiro, says something strange during the lesson: “There’s a noise, it’s like a chime. A heroin deal is set to occur at a nightclub. Undercover police are also in the nightclub waiting to make their move. A nightclub employee takes the heroin into the locker room. While the nightclub employee changes out of his uniform he is tazered from behind. Hyo-Jeong (Kim Hyo-Seo), a dancer at the nightclub, walks off with the heroin.Cha Tae-Sik (Won Bin), known only as "ajusshi" in his neighborhood, runs a dilapidated pawn shop in a seedy part of town. He associates little with those around him except a young girl named So-Mi (Kim Sae-Ron). So-Mi lives near Cha Tae-Sik's pawn shop and often comes over when her junkie mother Hyo-Jeong has men over. One day, So-Mi's mother Hyo-Jeong comes into the pawn shop. She pawns off to Cha Tae-Sik a bag with a camera, which he will hold until she pays him back. Cha Tae-Sik is unaware that in the bag is the heroin she stole from the nightclub.In a few days vicious mafia men come looking for So-Mi's mother knowing she stole the drugs. In the process they break into Cha Tae-Sik's pawn shop and holds him up. He hears on a cellphone young So-Mi's screaming voice and then gives the gangsters the bag that was brought to him by So-Mi's mother. The gangsters leave the pawn shop, but before they leave they shoot one of their own men dead. The gangsters also drive off with So-Mi and her mother.Cha Tae-Sik must now go after the dangerous mobsters who stole So-Mi. In the process, Cha Tae-Sik must also face off against the police and his own mysterious past

Sun Hee from the Department of Film stops by the school one day to get a letter of recommendation from Professor Choi to leave to the US. She expects him to write her a nice one since he took favor to her. She runs into two men from the past she's never met in a long time; Moon Soo, a recently turned movie director and senior director Jae Bak.

They give each other so called 'advice in life'. The men try to clear her from their heads as they don't know what she's thinking but these words of 'advice seem to be moving from people to people. This life 'advice' seems to be slipping away, leaving no trust and Sun Hee's attitude towards the men seem like they have nothing to do with her.

Sun Hee gets her letter of recommendation from the professor and has four days before she leaves but the men still wander around her.

Liu Ping Guo and her husband, An Kun are a young migrant couple from the northeast of China who has moved to Beijing for a better life.
