When Yiu Chun-Kit faces troubles being unable to pay off his debt to a loan shark King, he arrives from Thailand to Hong Kong to pay a visit to his twin brother Yiu Chun-Man hoping to find some help. When Chun-Kit needs to take a drive, Chun-Man lends him his car, ID card and driving license, but things become complicated when Chun-Kit gets in a serious car accident and falls into coma. Now brothers can’t exchange their identities back, so Chun-Man has to deal with Chun-Kit’s debt in Thailand while Chun-Kit has to deal with Chun-Man’s boyfriend in Hong Kong.

In 1998, the fishing vessel Jeonjiho goes out to sea to catch fish. The ships fails to catch fish as they hoped. The ship's owner then informs Captain Kang that he is going to sell the ship. Captain Kang can't let that happen and decides to buy the boat himself, but he is unable to get financing anywhere. Captain Kang then agrees to transport Chinese-Korean stowaways from the sea back to the port. The other crew members including Dong Shik and Chang Wook are freaked out about the captain's plan, but they agree to go along with it.

During a stormy night, the fishing vessel Jeonjiho stops in the middle of ocean and allows another boat to transfer its stowaways onto their ship. A young woman, Hong Mae, falls into the ocean, but Dong Shik jumps into the water to save her. Their nightmare journey begins.

For the past five years, Lin has been looking after the son, Yo Yu, and the elderly mother, Mrs. Chou, of his deceased boyfriend, Li Wei. They live together like a family, and it is Lin's way of remembering Li Wei - by continuing to be in the life he once had and loving the people he once loved. But when Mrs. Chou passes away, her other son, Li Gang, returns from overseas and discovers that Mrs. Chou's property is passed on to Yo Yu, who has been legally adopted by Lin. Li Gang contacts the police, accusing Lin of killing his mother. As the ensuing investigation continues, more and more evidence mounts against Lin.
