Professional killer Ken (Hirofumi Arai) is trying to break away from the yakuza. Wu Hongyan is a young woman working as a prison guard during executions of female convicts. She feels lonely after her husband died, and she takes a night train to another city to visit a dating service. After a series of unsuccessful dates, she meets Li Jun. It quickly becomes obvious that he is hiding a secret: he is the widower of one of the female convicts of which Wu Hongyan assisted in the execution. Li Jun is torn apart by his feelings, as he is both attracted to Wu Hongyan, and having a desire for revenge for his executed wife.

Tae Gu decides to leave the crime gang for his younger sister and nephew, but another crime gang targets Tae Gu. His younger sister and nephew are killed in a car explosion caused by the other criminal gang. Tae Gu takes revenge on the person he believes is responsible. Tae Gu then flees to Jeju Island. There, he meets Jae Yeon\, who doesn't have much time left to live. They both feel sympathy for each other.

During the period of the Beiyang government, the suona craftsman Yang Dashu played by Yang Shulin was kind-hearted, honest and sincere, and valued love and justice. In order to return his brother's fallen leaves to his roots, Dashu took his brother's ashes on a journey home. Who expected the ashes to be invaluable, and was targeted by the four gates of swindlers "Bee Sparrow" and accidentally involved in a conspiracy. During the course, he experienced countless scams along the way, avoiding chasing and killing again and again...

It doesn't exactly evoke the stuff of drama, yet very dramatic is this gripping yarn (puns intended) about the solemn, solitary lives of the men who catch what ends up as our sushi and sashimi. Opening with a shot of a young couple traversing sand dunes, the woman posits a question - women or fishing? This question fuels the drama of the next two-plus hours.
