Dong Gun has a serious complex of sorts. He has low self-esteem about his appearance, particularly a scar that sits next to right eye-brow. His world changes when he drives down a street and is flagged down by a beautiful girl that gets into his car. The girl, named Hae Joo, is blind and mistakes Dong Gun's car for a taxi cab and asks him to take drive her to another part of Seoul. He immediately falls for Hae Joo and realizes that Hae Joo's blindness would be perfect for him and his low self-esteem. Dong Gun soon becomes Hae Joo's eyes, taking her to various places and describes what everything looks like to her. When Hae Joo asks Dong Gun what he looks like, Dong Gun inexplicably describes someone from his high school that he looked up to. His name was Jun Ha. They soon fall for each other and see each other day for 3 years. Everything changes once Hae Joo receives a phone call from her doctor. The doctor tells her that a donor has been found and she can soon see again, once she has an operation. Dong Gun again feels like the Beast and he doesn't know what to do once the Beauty gets her vision back. Things are further complicated when Dong Gun's high school friend, Jun Ha, randomly crosses path with Hae Joo and falls for her as well.

Everyone in village is preparing to receive the auspicious God Of Fortune on the eve of the Lunar New Year. Come midnight, people of various races impersonate the deity and offer up mandarin oranges as well as lucky numbers in return for a red packet. Despite being poor, Ah Beng's father still hands up all the money he has to the God Of Fortune. Turns out he has hit the jackpot and the deity is for real. Hiyameshi: A younger son of a modest family, often referred as "cold rice", strives to realize his dream of leading an independent life. Too poor to form his own branch, he is relegated to hand me downs from his three older brothers and his collection of rare books having given up on marrying the girl of his dreams. 2. Osan: Carpenter Santa travels throughout Japan in search of his missing wife, whom he had left after she called out another man's name during climax. His journey is complicated by when he encounters other men who may know where Osan is. 3. Chan: Driven to drink as times have changed and people no longer care about quality craftsmanship, poverty stricken brazier maker Jukichi must find ways to make money for his family. Offers have come to join the more modern company started by former comrades, he tries to balance the pride of craftsmanship against his responsibility to support his family.

Rin, Yuu, Koyomi and Keita are childhood friends and are in the same high school. They all live in the same apartment building. Rin and Yuu like each other, but they don't tell each other how they feel. To hide his feelings for Yuu, Rin often makes biting remarks to her. Yuu doesn't know that Rin likes her and she isn't confident enough to tell him her feelings. Kazuma then appears in front of them.
