There is a rumor of a website called "Hell Correspondence" which only opens at twelve midnight sharp. When a user types the name of a person to be gotten rid of, a hell girl Ai Enma brings the person to the hell. In return, the user will be sent down to hell at the end of his or her life. A high school girl Miho is worried about her friend Haruka being trapped in the evil scheme of a popular rock band after Haruka joins the audition and starts acting strange. Children go missing in a town and the adults around them die suspiciously. When an internet rumor spreads that an adult met a child who went missing, and the adult dies 3 days later, local newspaper reporter Shunya Ezaki begins to investigate the mysterious deaths. Meanwhile his girlfriend, Nahomi Harada, works at a kindergarten school. A boy's mother does not pick him up and she takes him with her. Then a mysterious man appears and the boy under Nahomi’s care soon goes missing.

In 1999, Young Mi, cruelly nicknamed “Ms. Apocalypse,” develops a crush on a married man who is imprisoned for embezzlement. Young Mi ends up imprisoned for aiding his crime. When she is released, her crush’s wife, Yu Jin, visits, offering to pay off her husband’s debt. Yet, because Yu Jin is physically disabled, Young Mi feels uneasy about taking her money. The two women eventually begin to live together. Their story is poignant yet consistently cheery, enlivening, and energetic.

A Macau photographed with elegant realism forms the backdrop to the life of Lina, a Chinese immigrant working both as a waitress in a restaurant and as a hostess in a bar in order to save money to join her mother and daughter in China. By chance she meets taxi driver Mada, also an immigrant from China. Both have a past they want to forget and love feels like it might be their last chance to avoid being alone. But as is always the case in a melodrama, the past isn't easily tamed.

In their university days, Zhao Mo Sheng fell in love at first sight with law student He Yi Chen. Through various incidents where Mo Sheng "stalked" Yi Chen on campus, Mo Sheng's cheerful personality charmed Yi Chen, and they slowly became college sweethearts.

When Yi Chen's foster sister Yi Mei challenged Mo Sheng for Yi Chen's attention, Mo Sheng turned directly to Yi Chen for clarification but did not expect to receive a cold response from him.

Mistaking that Yi Chen and Yi Mei are a couple, Mo Sheng followed her father's arrangements and moved to the United States to continue her studies. Seven years later, Mo Sheng - who is now a professional photographer - returns to China, and coincidentally bumps into the unforgettable Yi Chen.

All these situations continue to affect the two former lovers, but instead, these misunderstandings and challenges give them a better comprehension of the love they have missed over the past seven years.
