The story follows a young man who has been single for a year after his boyfriend suddenly disappeared without a formal breakup. The sudden death of their son prompts the couple to shut themselves up in their own worlds. The mother begins to spend more and more time feeding the stray cats on the street while the father pretends that nothing is wrong. Eight years after the incident, their daughter comes home, forcing the family to face their pain again.

This film is about a group of high school students and teachers who get locked in the school after the swimming instructor is murdered. In South Korea, the high school student and swimmer Jeong Tae Yeon is found dead in the pool, apparently a suicide. Two years later, teacher Park Eun Soo joins the high school, where Tae-yeon's stepsister Lee Se Hee is haunted by nightmarish visions and is bullied by the student Eom Ji Yoon. Eun Soo finds it difficult to get respect in the classroom and is backed up by an older teacher, Cha. Se Hee and her classmates are selected for an elite "study camp" held at the school during the summer break where 30 students study for their university entrance exams. The school's swimming trainer is murdered in the showers, and the words "When an innocent mother is killed, what son would not avenge her death?" found scrawled on a blackboard. A voice warns the students that they'll all be killed unless they can answer who is the murderer and why. The students and teachers find they're locked in the school when more deaths begin to happen.

International Security Affairs agent Jon is on a dangerous mission to escort a criminal scientist to another country. En route, a member of his team turns out to be a traitor and shoots Jon in the head while kidnapping the scientist. When Jon wakes up in the hospital, a doctor tells him that within weeks, the bullet in his brain will cause complete paralysis. Jon returns to Beijing to see his mother, who confesses that Jon has a brother in Malaysia who was raised by his father, a gambler. Jon takes a flight to Malaysia to find his brother, Yeung. On the plane he forms a bond with Dr. Kan, who promises to look into possible treatments for his condition. However, when they arrive, Yeung tries to kidnap the doctor and when Jon intervenes, he's also taken hostage. The two soon realize they're brothers, and decide to work together in order to keep the criminals behind the kidnappings from reinfecting the world of a disease long thought cured.

Seok Ho, a self-styled playboy with a beautiful wife, is fooling around with Ji Yeon, a voluptuous photographer, but pines for Chae Young, a college student who appears to be the most virtuous girl in all of Korea. But it turns out that Chae Young, who frustrates her suitor at every turn, is not so chaste after all. The plot thickens as Seok Ho's best friend Young Su, outwardly awkward and shy, sets his sights on Ji Yeon, not realizing that she is already involved with his best buddy.
