After suffering from serial paranormal events, a wealthy family living in LA summons a young rising shaman duo Hwa Rim and Bong Gil to save the newborn of the family. Once they arrive, Hwa Rim senses a dark shadow of their ancestor has latched on the family in a so-called 'Grave Calling'.

In order to exhume the grave and relieve the ancestor, Hwa Rim seeks help from top-notch geomancer Sang Deok and mortician Yeong Geun. To their dismay, the four find the grave at a shady location in a remote village in Korea. Unaware of the consequences, the exhumation is carried out, unleashing a malevolent force buried underneath.

Tsugumi Dozono (Nana Eikura) works at a large electronics company in Tokyo. She likes to spend long vacations at her grandmother’s house in the countryside. One day, her grandmother passes away and Tsugumi Dozono decides to live in her grandmother's house while working from home. She finds a strange middle-aged man in the house. The man's name is Jun Kaieda (Etsushi Toyokawa).

Jun Kaieda tells Tsugumi that he is her grandmother’s ex-student and her grandmother gave him a key to the annex house. Tsugumi, who does not know the exact relationship between her grandmother and Jun, begins to live with him.

The story alternates between the past and present, linked by a fateful song. During World War II, Japanese submarine I-77 battles an American destroyer off the coast of Okinawa. Before heading to war, the captain received a final present from his lover, the score to a song titled Manatsu no Orion. Sixty-four years later, his granddaughter discovers the score and the significance behind the song.

An elderly lady in her 60's works as a caregiver for a disabled man & raises her grandson alone. She has to endure the onset of Alzheimer's disease, through this she tries to fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming a poet.

Lee Jang-Hwan (Lee Kyoung-Young) receives widespread acclaim and media attention after successfully cloning human embryo stem cells. A TV news program PD, Yoon Min-Cheol (Park Hae-Il) receives a phone call from an anonymous source. The anonymous source is Shim Min-Ho (Yoo Yeon-Seok) who has done stem cell research with Lee Jang-Hwan in the past. Shim Min-Ho blows the whistle on Lee Jang-Hwan's work. Results were fabricated along with other unethical practices. PD Yoon Min-Cheol believes Shim Min-Ho and decides to take his story public.

A volcano on Baekdu Mountain suddenly erupts. Pandemonium ensues on the Korean peninsula, with more eruptions predicted in the area.

To prevent another disaster, Jeon Yoo Kyung plans an operation based on a theory by Professor Kang Bong Rae. He had has studied Baekdu Mountain and its possible eruptions. Jo In Chang is the captain of a special forces team. He is tasked to take part in the operation, which holds the fates of South and North Korea in the balance. Jo In Chang contacts Lee Joon Pyeong who is part of the Ministry of People's Armed Forces of North Korea. Meanwhile, Jo In Chang's wife Choi Ji Young is alone in Seoul. She struggles to survive against the disaster.

Anthong Wong stars as Siu Bo, a single father who singlehandedly raises his two children, Natalie and Nicky since his wife passed away. Nicky, Stephen Fung works as a dolphin trainer at Ocean Park and Natalie goes to school with Ella. Her boyfriend, Jason, is a musician who doesn't speak Chinese very well, and in his first scene, gives Natalie a pet pig. Siu Bo works as a Chinese traditional bonesetter and has kung fu skills, which he has passed on to his children, who display avid prowess while fighting each other in sibling disputes. Basically, Siu Bo tells exaggerated stories to everyone who will listen, and no one believes him; but is there any truth to his bluster at all? The kids soon find out...
