The story follows a young man who has been single for a year after his boyfriend suddenly disappeared without a formal breakup. The story revolves around Zhao Yiyi and Xu Jiashu. Zhao Yiyi finally confessed to Xu Jiashu, who had been in love for many years, but started a long distance relationship. They firmly believe that it is a lifetime to survive in a different place. But the natural obstacles of long-distance love test them, and they are clearly in love, but they are constantly absent from each other's life. The appearance of Saihe and the twists and turns of girlfriends Qiao Qiao and Li Tang made Zhao Yiyi feel a lot.

Once a year, on Christmas Eve, Cafe Telekinesis holds a real psychic party. At the party, psychics gather together to show off their abilities while for the rest of the year they hide their abilitties. Yone Sakurai (Masami Nagasawa) is a program director for a psychic variety TV show called "Asunaro Psychic". She is stressed out and tired from her work, but proud of what she is doing. Yone actually believes in psychic abilities. By an audience request a new plan is set out for the program, a plan which requires the show to uncover real psychics or psychic events. Yone is selected to find these people. Yone then goes on a nationwide search, but uncovers only fakes. As Christmas draws closer, Yone, a normally cheerful girl, becomes depressed. Her boss at the Tokyo station orders Yone back if she can't find a psychic. Before Yone ends her search she makes one last stop at Cafe Psychic on Christmas Eve! Can the psychics there, who all hate Yone's TV show, hide their abilities from Yone or will Yone finally get her program material?

THERE IS A SECRET IN MY SOUP opens at the scene of the crime and then progresses to the police station, with the officer in charge of the investigation (Michael Wong Man-tak, dubbed by someone else here) questioning the various parties involved. This provides the necessary lead-in to the flashback structure these films invariably adopt. Abused by her husband, Maggie Chan (Cherry Chan Chiu-chiu, who co-hosts the popular cable sex show CALL 2430 WHENEVER YOU WANT) moves out and into an apartment shared by Pat (Angela Tong Ying-ying) and her spouse Rocky, (Hugo Ng Toi-yung). Maggie begins working as a prostitute for the latter but eventually steals some money and Rocky's fancy lighter, prompting the pimp to send psychotic debt collector Joe (Gabriel Harrison / Hoi Chun-kit) after her. Maggie gave the cash to her sickly grandmother, so Rocky demands that she continue to work as one of his girls and pay him $HK20,000 in four instalments. She runs away again, however, and Pat is unable to stand up for her this time. Rocky, Joe, and their buddy Fei then takes turns abusing Maggie in increasingly horrific ways.
