The story follows a young man who has been single for a year after his boyfriend suddenly disappeared without a formal breakup. Based on real life stories from the director's life, and those known to him. It is set in the South Korean countryside around a U.S. military base, and particularly involves the villages that are affected by its presence. This includes an unstable, near psychotic American soldier who survives on a diet of LSD and rage, Eun-ok, a girl with one defective eye, Jihum a lonesome boy and Chang-guk, who lives in an old abandoned U.S. Air Force bus with his mother. She has taught Chang-guk English in an attempt to prepare him for their new life in America, reunited with his father who she mails regularly, although the letters are always returned "address unknown.

A comic book storekeeper, Dae Man, and the legendary homicide detective, Tae Soo, who met on the previous case quit their jobs to open a private detective agency. Despite their high hopes, they soon find themselves with only trivial cases such as spouse infidelity, unpaid debt, and missing cats.

Then one day, a woman walks into the office, wanting to find the truth behind the death of her fiance. Not only that, she also offers them a handsome reward of 50,000 dollars. Dae Man and Tae Soo see it as an opportunity to put their true detective skills to work. They bring onboard a third member, Yeochi, a Mensa genius and a small-time online private eye, and together they launch a full-fledged investigation on the case.

As they dig into what initially appeared to be a straightforward case, a disturbing new piece of evidence turns up.

High school students, Shun and Nagisa first meet and fall in love with each other during their first year. In a small rural town, a brother and sister goes missing and there's also a serial killer case involving woman as the victims. Mayu Misono (Aya Omasa) is a sophomore high school student in the town. She is called "Ma-chang". When Mayu Misono was young, she was also kidnapped and locked up. Since that time she has been traumatized and has become indifferent to everything around her.One day, in front Mayu's mansion, her childhood friend Mii-kun (Shota Sometani), who was kidnapped with Mayu, suddenly appears. Ma-chang hugs Mii-kun. Up until now, she has waited for Mii-kun. Mayu has lived in the mansion alone, until a week ago, when she kidnapped two elementary school aged kids and has kept them locked in her mansion. To hide Mayu's crime, the four of them will live together in the mansion.Meanwhile, Detective Kamiyashi (Tomoko Tabata) finds out the kidnapping case may be related to the detention case 10 years ago. Kamiyashi contacts psychiatrist Dr. Sakashita (Kyoka Suzuki), who treated Mayu and Mii-kun. Dr. Sakashita believes that if Mayu is treated she may choose to killer herself. By sealing her cruel past away Mayu is able to have balance in her life. To the devastated Mii-kun, Dr. Sakashita told him that Mayu receives happiness by focusing on Mi-kun's world. But there is a big lie there.The detective begins to doubt Mayu as the prime suspect. To protect Mayu, Mii-kun is about to carry out a plan. The truth of what happened 10 years ago becomes slowly revealed. The reason Mi-kun tries to protect Mayu, even puts his life at risk, all connects to an unexpected real criminal.
