"Confession of Jack the Ripper(2015)"

The dead body of a young woman is discovered in a park right in front of Kasugano Police Precinct in the heart of Tokyo. All her organs have been taken out. While a investigation task force is being set up, ace detective Inukai Hayato of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department's First Investigative Division starts to investigate together with a rookie detective from Saitama Prefectural Police, Kotegawa Kazuya, who has just come to the division for training. The brutal way in which victim was murdered discomforts Inukai. He is never swayed by his own feelings and is feared for seeing through the lies of others. The divorced Inukai has a daughter of elementary school-going age, Toyosaki Sayaka. She is suffering from a serious kidney disease and is waiting for a transplant. Early surgery is encouraged by her attending physician, Majikina Takahiko and Majikina's wife and anesthetist, Yoko. Takano Chiharu is introduced as the university hospital's transplant coordinator in charge of Sayaka. Meanwhile, a statement which seems to ridicule the bewildered task force, is sent to a TV station by the criminal who calls himself ‘Jack the Ripper’. The words “I'm enjoying this work” are written down. Then second and third crimes occur in the same way. It starts to seem similar to theatrical crime. Before long, Inukai and Kotegawa discover what the victims have in common. The victims had received organ donations from the same donor. Inukai is caught between his roles as a detective and a father, but begins to track down the criminal.     Her professional skills of pretense and deceit easily got Young-ju out on parole. On a train to attend her sister's wedding, she runs into Hee-chul, a man in love with a girl he is just about to propose to.

    By some bad? or perhaps good? luck Young-ju and Hee-chul run into each other and she mistakes Hee-chul as a bum trying to molest her. Their first chance encounter turns out quite embarrassing. On top of that a pickpocket steals Hee-chul's engagement ring! Young-ju is worried that she might be accused of the theft, so she sets out to bring him back the ring. Amidst the hassle, she is left behind on the platform. The train has left, carrying away her own luggage. And all that she has with her is the ring. What she needs is her luggage back. What she doesn't need is to be accused of theft. Young-ju finds her way to Hee-chul's home and the family seeing the ring thinks she is Hee-chul's fiancee! To wiggle herself out of the situation without adding another crime onto her record, she uses the skills of her profession and cons everyone into believing indeed she is the one.

    Meanwhile, our poor Hee-chul returns home without proposing to his girl for lack of the ring, and finds that his family, in fact the whole town now blame him for deserting an innocent woman. Surprise! Surprise!

    Now the bout is on between deceit and truth. Conwoman-turned-fiancee of the town's pharmacist vs. the pharmacist framed for rejecting a faithful woman.

    The Korean war does not start well for the US. They are being routed by the North Koreans and despite US reinforcements from Tokyo, the US army is making a hasty disorganized retreat to the southern-most city of Pusan. On the path to Pusan is the village of Jogunri, near the village of Nogunri. The US Army orders all the villagers out of Jogunri, warning them that the North Korean army is coming. Some 500 villagers make their way, children on their backs, leading ox carts laden with belongings. But word is circulating among the US forces that Northern soldiers may be hiding among the civilian refugees. As the Jogunri villagers approach Nogunri, an American airplane suddenly swoops in and strafes and bombs the civilians, killing many. In the ensuing chaos, the US soldiers force the remaining 400 villagers into a cave under a bridge. The US soldiers then open fire. In the end, only 25 manage to survive the massacre.

One day, Han finds that the head cook uses caramel and a chemical seasoning to make Chinese soybean sauce. He is shocked at this fact and is ill in bed. He decides to close his restaurant. Mi Rae, Han's daughter and a manager of the western restaurant, is also in dejection at this news. Han Kook leaves alone in the abandoned restaurant and determines to gather separated employees of the restaurant. They together do their best to restore Peking Ban Jeum. The restaurant gets to be popular again thanks to its delicious Jajangmyeon and other whole-hearted dishes.
