For the past five years, Lin has been looking after the son, Yo Yu, and the elderly mother, Mrs. Chou, of his deceased boyfriend, Li Wei. Chinese archeology professor Jack teams up with beautiful Indian professor Ashmita and assistant Kyra to locate lost Magadha treasure. In a Tibetan ice cave, they find the remains of the royal army that had vanished together with the treasure, only to be ambushed by Randall, the descendant of a rebel army leader. When they free themselves, their next stop is Dubai where a diamond from the ice cave is to be auctioned. Dr. Kuriharai Ichito works at a clinic in Nagano Prefecture. He rarely has any free time due to the clinic's shortage of doctors and the constant influx of patients. Ichito even sometimes diagnoses patients out of his area of specialty and sometimes goes days without sleeping. He hopes to work at a major hospital where he can get more free time to spend with his wife Haruna and also specialize in his field of study. However, Ichito is also reluctant to add to shortage of doctors at the clinic and break his relationships with the patients. One day, Dr. Kuriharai Ichito clears out the belongings of a terminal cancer patient who passed away. Durin this time, he discovers a letter made out to him thanking him for the care he provided to her, even though he could not cure her sickness. Dr. Kuriharai Ichito then has a revelation about the medical chart he keeps in his hand - filled with personal observations and concerns.

Golden Escape (2022)

Japan has rarely been as politically active as it was in the late 1960's and early 1970's, when students took to the streets and formed militias like the Red Army to push for a Communist revolution. Now, director Yamashita Nobuhiro and his frequent screenwriter Mukai Kosuke (Linda Linda Linda, The Matsugane Potshot Affair) explore that period via Kawamoto Saburo's pseudo-autobiographical novel My Back Page. Tsumabuki Satoshi (Villains) stars as an idealistic journalist who gets caught up in the radical student movement when he meets a dangerous activist, played by Matsuyama Kenichi. Based on a real 1971 murder of a Self Defense Force officer, My Back Page is a gripping thriller about one of the most important eras in contemporary Japanese history.

Tokyo, 1968. Tokyo University graduate Sawada (Tsumabuki Satoshi) is eager to become a reporter and begins working at a left-wing newspaper. Intrigued by the political movements happening in universities across Japan, he begins covering the demonstrations as an interested observer. In the process, he meets well-known radical activist Umeyama (Matsuyama Kenichi), whom Sawada believes can give him the story he needs to get ahead. However, the harder police cracks down on the movement, the more recklessly dangerous Umeyama becomes in order to hang on to it. Soon, Sawada discovers that the student revolution isn't as noble as it appears to be.

Renowned Hong Kong director Ann Hui (Summer Snow) has perhaps made the crowning achievement of her marvelous career with A Simple Life, a crowd-pleasing human drama that quietly tugs at viewers' heartstrings with its restrained sentiments and delicately drawn characters. After suffering a stroke at home one day, Tao realizes it's about time she retired, so she asks Roger to find her a nursing home for rehabilitation. Tao struggles to adjust to the strange new environment as well as her eccentric fellow inmates, but Roger is there to care for this mother figure who has devoted her life to his.
