In the early days of the Republic, legendary martial artist Ye Ruzhou suffers a severe injury, losing her memory and winding up in the impoverished alley of Minfu Lane. By a twist of fate, she crosses paths with the carefree Chen Awang, and the two fall for each other. When local tyrant Zheng Juehou intensifies his hold over the neighborhood, Ye Ruzhou rises to defend her new community. When To-Il was 5 years old, her mother remarried. Due to that, they left Daegu and began to live in Seoul. To-Il is now 21-years-old and a university student. She dates 19-year-old Ho-Hoon, who is her student for private tutoring. She gets pregnant by him and hides her pregnancy for five months. When she passes the stage for getting an abortion, To-Il tells her mother and her stepfather that she is pregnant. She tells them that is she having her baby and she will marry Ho-Hoon. Her mother and stepfather are not pleased with the situation. To-Il decides to find her birth father.

During the Ming dynasty, Japan invaded China with an army equipped with guns. The union chief of the martial arts clans revealed in his deathbed that there is a rare book containing secrets that will make a person immune to gunfire. His last words sparked the clans to contend with each other to find it. Also in search of the book were the Japanese who dispatched a team of ninjas to go after the book. The imperial court also secretly intervened in this dispute. The emperor secretly dispatched a Kung fu Master and ordered him to find the book within seven days.

For no apparent reason, a mute young woman assaults a youth who delivers water on his bicycle, injuring him and ruining his bike. Surprisingly, she asks him to feed her fish while she is in custody. Her tiny apartment, he discovers, is a shrine to his favorite escape, the movies. He finds her diary - a screenplay of her life built around scenes from favorite films - and it sets off his imagination. Maybe they have more in common than a love of the movies.

Kosaka Kei works as a programmer for IT company Spiral. The Tokyo Central Stock Exchange is about to overhaul their financial security system for the first time since their company was founded. The stock exchange will take bids for the work. Spiral is one of the companies taking part in the competition for the winning contract.

Hamamura Hitomi is a new employee at Tokyo Central Stock Exchange. She receives training in the information system department. She meets Kosaka Kei and they take interest in each other.
