After the battle of Sky City, Feng Ren declares war on the human tribe. As it is told in history that Feng Ren would play the Qin during the wedding ceremony, Fang Qiwu plans to kill Feng Ren during her wedding day. During this ten days, she is protected by a youth named Nan Feng. Fang Qiwu falls in love with Nan Feng as both share the same love for music. However on the day of the wedding ceremony, she finds out that Nan Feng's true identity is actually Feng Ren.

Morita, a Japanese former Formula 2 driver known as "Kamikaze Run", who is asked by Onodera, an old friend and current representative of a large trade company, to function as intermediary for an auction of vintage cars. The owner of the cars is Gianpiero, an Italian who used to be Morita’s main rival on the races, until an accident ended both of their careers. Onodera invites Morita to stay in his house until the auction, but his wife seems to have a past connection with the guest, while his son, soon takes a huge liking to him, to Onodera’s raising frustration on both fronts. At the same time, his wife’s younger sister has a relationship with a young race-driver, while Onodera cooperates with billionaire Kurosawa and Morita’s ex-lover, Kyoko, in order to rig the auction, unbeknownst to him. Eventually, Onodera asks Morita to help him in his scheme.

Unknown to him, Sun had met Lin before ten years ago when she was a cabaret singer in Beijing. The two had a relationship together at that time when Lin was a film student. Ten years later, now a huge movie star, Sun refuses to acknowledge they have met before.

Nie plans his musical, which includes a plot where a girl loses her memory and comes to live with a circus troupe. Sun plays the amnesiac girl and Lin, her former boyfriend who tries to revive her memories. As the shooting of the movie starts, reel life and real life overlap. Lin tries desperately to win back Sun's lost love, while Nie discovers their past romance. Nie himself plays the role of the obsessive circus owner in the musical, who is involved in a love triangle. Just like in real life, he has Lin as his rival.

Monty is a fantasy character who has a number of different roles in the movie, such as a noodle shop owner and a reporter.
