The story follows a young man who has been single for a year after his boyfriend suddenly disappeared without a formal breakup. Set in Hong Kong, 1962, Chow Mo-Wan is a newspaper editor who moves into a new building with his wife. At the same time, Su Li-zhen, a beautiful secretary and her executive husband also move in to the crowded building. With their spouses often away, Chow and Li-zhen spend most of their time together as friends. They have everything in common from noodle shops to martial arts. Soon, they are shocked to discover that their spouses are having an affair. Hurt and angry, they find comfort in their growing friendship even as they resolve not to be like their unfaithful mates.

Due to a conspiracy, the wealthy So Chan loses everything but is saved by the Beggars' Sect. He learns the long lost martial art - Drunken Fist, to defeat the person who framed him.

Jong Du is autistic who ignores society's rules; unaware or unconcerned with the consequences of his actions. Unable to hold a job and always on the edge, he has been in jail three times: for attempted rape, for causing an accident while drunk, and for armed robbery.

On the spur of the moment, he decides to visit and apologize to the family of the man killed by his brother. When he arrives, he finds a husband and wife moving out of their apartment, leaving the husband's seriously disabled sister, Gong Ju, for the neighbors to look after.

Jong Du and Gong Ju slowly begin a friendship based on their mutual feelings of isolation. He provides her with the closeness she desperately needs; and she has found someone to care for, for the first time in her life.

As their relationship becomes known, both their families are scandalized; and aided by the prejudices of society, transform the innocence of their love into something sick and twisted.

Pao Lung-Sing (Stephen Chow), a decendant of the famous Judge Pao Ching Tient, is a 9th degree corrupt judge (lowest degree) who changes his tune when he tries to champion a woman Chi Siu-Lin (Cheung Man), who was framed for killing her husband. As a result, Pao is forced to flee and through a series of events (often hilarious) becomes a 1st degree judge and comes back to wreak havoc and justice on the guilty.

The black comedy is about a notable family that receives an unexpected visit from an inspector at their lavish party to celebrate a couple’s engagement. Their joy turns gloomy when they find out that the inspector is there to investigate the suicide of a pregnant girl, whom the family members claim to have no links to.

Summer vacation has emptied a Japanese boys' school of all but three boys: the junior Norio & the seniors Kazuhiko & Naoto. They have no families to return to for the summer, so they spend their days in the empty school. A darkness hangs over the three however: the suicide, three months earlier, of classmate Yu. Norio blames Kazuhiko for Yu's death, because it was well-known that Yu loved Kazuhiko; so Kazuhiko is cruel to Norio, and yet has bad dreams. This uneasy arrangement is exacerbated by the arrival of Kaoru, a student early for the fall - who looks exactly like Yu.
