Set in a coastal city in Brazil, Kai arrives from Taiwan for a holiday with a broken heart. She meets Fu Ang, who could become a friend, but then disappears.

One day, high school freshman Minzy finds a photo of herself changing clothes in the school locker room. Class leader Hyejin, who is not close to minzy, points out that the new teacher is the suspect to her. Minzy and Hyejin collect evidences to prove that the teacher takes pictures of high school girls secretly. When Minzy and Hyejin report the teacher's behavior to another teacher, Minzy realizes something unexpected.

A Mi, for instance, keeps sleeping with her boyfriend Heung Soo, but she knows too well that this rocker-wannabe does not have any real chance to succeed in this tough world where there is no protection whatsoever for talentless men. The Korean war does not start well for the US. They are being routed by the North Koreans and despite US reinforcements from Tokyo, the US army is making a hasty disorganized retreat to the southern-most city of Pusan. On the path to Pusan is the village of Jogunri, near the village of Nogunri. The US Army orders all the villagers out of Jogunri, warning them that the North Korean army is coming. Some 500 villagers make their way, children on their backs, leading ox carts laden with belongings. But word is circulating among the US forces that Northern soldiers may be hiding among the civilian refugees. As the Jogunri villagers approach Nogunri, an American airplane suddenly swoops in and strafes and bombs the civilians, killing many. In the ensuing chaos, the US soldiers force the remaining 400 villagers into a cave under a bridge. The US soldiers then open fire. In the end, only 25 manage to survive the massacre.

Yan (Charmaine), a pampered daughter of the world-class restaurant's owner, has no cooking skills. She later meets Ka Kui (Hacken Lee), whose mother, a business woman in the food industry, despises Yan for her lack of cooking skills. Due to her clumsiness, which causes her father to have a heart attack, she is forced to learn how to cook in order to save her father's restaurant and reputation and to win back Ka Hui's heart.

Based on a supposed true story, the film stars Yamada Takayuki (from Water Boys and Crying Out Love in the Center of the World) as a twentysomething computer nerd who goes by the chat room screen named "Densha Otoko" ("Train Man"wink.gif. Out of nowhere, he soon finds himself in an unfamiliar role as "protector" when he ends up saving a woman from the advances of a drunken salaryman (Osugi Ren) on a commuter train. Miki Nakatani (from Ring 2) takes on the role of a beautiful office lady who eventually takes a slight interest in this socially-inept otaku. A complete moron when it comes to the ladies, this young computer freak would rather stay in his fantasy land of anime, manga, toys, and computer games than face the real world. Thus, when faced with the proposition of dating this new woman, he turns to the anonymous chatroom pals for support, asking for tips on what just exactly he should do to win this woman's heart. Densha Otoko is ultimately a nice guy, but for whatever reason, things just haven't happened for him yet in the romance department. Despite his shyness, he's definitely looking to make some changes in his personal life. But will their advice pay off? Can there be chemistry between these two vastly different people? And is there any chance that this guy will actually grow up? The answers await in Densha Otoko, a curious spin on love, life, relationships, and the unabashed glory of otaku geekiness!
