Takumi and his daughter Hana live in Mizubiki Village, close to Tokyo. One day, the village inhabitants become aware of a plan to build a camping site near Takumi's house offering city residents a comfortable "escape" to nature.

Kuga Kazuyuki aspires to become an actor. He auditions for the lead role in a theater company's next work. Among the 300 people who take part in that audition, only seven people are selected for a final audition round. Kazuyuki is among the final seven participants. These seven people then travel to a snowy mountain villa and stay there for four days to take the final audition. By the director's orders, all contact with the outside world is not allowed. Soon, the participants begin to disappear one by one.

In an audacious reworking of the biopic, this ensemble drama sees jazz pianist Minami Hiroshi’s memoir cleverly reinterpreted into a surreal and playful story about chasing dreams, disillusionment and the inner lives of professional artists. Male student Nanamori and female students Shiraki, and Mugito are the latest club intake, each wrestling with issues such as love, masculinity and femininity, fear of others and sexism in society.

The X refugees transform their appearance into human beings and live among ordinary humans. Residents in the host countries are unable to distinguish X refugees by appearance, and they have no idea if any of them live among them. People become anxious, confused, and afraid of the X refugees, and they try to find the refugees who may live among them.

Sasa Kentaro is a weekly magazine journalist. For a story, he hides his identity as a journalist and approaches Kashiwagi Ryoko, who is suspected of being an X refugee. He gets close to her and begins to have feelings for her, but he's not certain if she is human.

It's June of their third year of high school, and Takumi has an important anniversary to attend back in his hometown. He wants to invite Gii along for the trip, but time and scheduling and possibly broken promises stand in the way.

Different from the previous movies, this film focuses on the relationship between Misu Arata and Shingyouji Kanemitsu. Started from their 1st meeting when Shingyouji was taken the test to enter in Shidou Gakuen as a junior high student and felt in love with Misu at the first sight, and two years later in the present time. The appearance of the legendary senpai Sagara Takahiro became a problem between them since Misu has always admired Sagara. Takumi, Gii, and Akaike want to help Misu and Shingyouji in this matter. On the other side, there's also a little side-story of Takabayashi and his boyfriend Yoshizawa.

At the beginning of their third-year school, Takumi is looking forward to see his boyfriend Gii after the school break. Takumi will no longer be Gii's roommate, while Gii, who is now the third floor's dorm head , has his own room. He soon discovers that since Gii's return from New York, not only has his appearance changed but also his attitude towards him and the others. Besides being cold and avoiding him on purpose, Gii even suggests they stop seeing each other for a while. Deeply affected by the sudden change in Gii's attitude and rejection, Takumi's human contact phobia relapses. Takumi's new roommate Arata Misu, who dislikes Gii, informs Gii of Takumi's relapse and his intention to cure Takumi of his phobia if they were to break up.

This is the second part of the Takumi-kun series. Takumi and Gii are now a couple and the envy of the whole school. The story takes place during a summer of continuous sunshine when water supply restrictions are issued in the city. Shunsaku Iwakiri works for the city's water department and his job is to visit homes and stores that are behind on their bills and either collect the money or shut off the water supply (water suspension enforcement). Shunsaku is separated from his wife and children, and his heart grows thirsty as he spends his days visiting poor households and being abhorred. One day, during a water shutoff, Shunsaku meets two young sisters who have been neglected. He sees them as his own children and offers them a helping hand.
