Huang Cai Wei was engaged to Bai Qian Feng when he went missing on a business trip and presumed dead. She was then forced to marry his brother Bai Qian Sheng. She works with Dong Ki Joon. He is Sa Ra’s business partner and an advisory lawyer at Solution. Before coming to Solution, he was an excellent prosecutor who had the nickname of "German Shepherd." He picked up the nickname because of his persistence and keen intuition, but Ki Joon left the prosecutors' office for an unknown reason. Sa Ra and Ki Joon work together for people who are suffering through difficult divorces.

The murder of Emili, a young girl, leaves the inhabitants of a small Japanese village in shock. The raped body of Emily is found by the four classmates with whom she was playing. This '70s ghost drama began with Wang Jian, a policeman, discovering neighbor Huang Yinggu's ghost who has been trapped in a braid inside the police station for over ten years. Yinggu slowly reveals her story to Jian. She was wrongly sentenced to death for a crime she never committed. Yinggu's nephew Ye Jiasheng committed the murder and heartlessly set Yinggu up and made her his scapegoat. Fate is always ironical and cruel, as Yinggu discovers. She soon gets involved with Ye Jiasheng's affairs a second time. First, she manages to persuade her daughter Sun Minghua (Irene Wong) to break off with Ye Jiasheng's son Ye Zuguang, who is a flirt. Later, Ye Zuguang commits mass murder (locking people inside a building, preventing them escaping from the fire). Minghua is on the scene coincidentally and Jiasheng decides to frame her for the crime. Wang Jian, by then a police inspector, is in charge of this case and knows Minghua is innocent and Zuguang involved. He tried his best to solve the case, to ensure justice for the dead and innocent (Minghua) but Ye Jiasheng, a senior police inspector, just seems to be too smart and cunning for Wang Jian to deal with. Ye Jiasheng is willing to do anything (framing Minghua, falsify evidence, killing witnesses) to get his son off the hook. Yinggu's ghost finally meets face to face with the arrogant Ye Jiasheng, who isn’t even scared and taunts Yinggu saying she ought to blame her sorry fate instead. Justice prevails however, Wang Jian finds new evidence to charge Zuguang with and by then a remorseful Zuguang finally confesses to the crime. Ye Jiasheng dies a sorry death from cancer and Huang Yinggu is assumed to have reincarnated. There is a sub-plot toward the end where Wang Jian's wife Baoyan (Maggie Cheung) accepts corruption money from Jian’s superior who asks her to take on behalf of Jian. Wang Jian finds out and Baoyan decides to turn herself in. The show ends with Baoyan being released from jail and a family reunion with Wang Jian and family.

At the end of the Sui Dynasty in ancient China in early 600AD, the country is ruled by the inept Emperor Yang Di whose excessive indulgences included women and a luxurious ship where he spends his time in merriment. Yang Su promptly sends Hong Fu off to eliminate Li Jing. Alas, Li Jing's hot-blooded patriotism and passion for the commoners has struck a chord with Hong Fu's own hidden desire to elevate the people's wretched misery. She warns Li Jing to leave town immediately, only to be caught on the spot by Yang Su's other assassins. To protect him, Hong Fu is forced to fight against them and to flee from the life she has known. Next door to Chuo TV's offices is "Manhattan," a coffee shop for aficionados. The owner's (Masahiro Matsuoka) passion for coffee is almost a sickness and all he wants is for his customers to enjoy their coffee. He is a man of few words. If he has to say something, he gets his waiter Shinobu Gamo (Takashi Tsukamoto) to speak on his behalf. Owner's real name is unknown. He would prefer to be addressed as the shops' "Master" rather than its owner - not that anyone is aware of this. He gives his all to coffee. Despite his wishes, his regular customers don't really come to taste the coffee. They are there because of love. They use his shop as a place for dates, marriage proposals and break-ups. He doesn't show it, but it saddens him that his customers are so preoccupied with affairs of the heart and not the coffee.

One day, Nobuko Akabane (Kyoko Koizumi) visits his shop. Nobuko, who got caught up in a messy extra-marital affair which resulted in her having to leave her job at a top company, now drives a taxi. She looks anxious, as if she is waiting for someone and leaves the shop without touching her coffee. This happens again the next day. Nobuko had a customer - dance instructor Hideki Bessho (Mitsuhiro Oikawa) - who left his mobile phone in the taxi. Nobuko has made two appointments to meet with Bessho to return the phone, but on both occasions Bessho has failed to show up. One day, she appeared at the coffee shop all dressed up and tipped a cup of coffee over Bessho's head. The master watches developments in Nobuko's love life with great interest. He wants her to enjoy good coffee so decides to help her with her love life. But no sooner has he decided to do this that other love-related troubles begin to emerge. Be it screenwriter Maki Chikura (Aiko Morishita), voice actor Satoshi Doigaki (Suzuki Mastuo), new announcer Shiori Emoto (Wakana Sakai), actor Eiichiro Funakoshi (played by himself) or the waiter Gamo. And even the Master finds himself embroiled in affairs of the heart.
