After the death of the Huo family, Chen Zhen took the only offspring of his master, Huo Dong Jue, and left Shanghai to seek refuge in Peking incognito. Using the pseudonym Cheng Zhi En, he lives in the Fang family as a handyman, dedicated into cultivating Huo Dong Jue into an excellent talent with both civil and military skills to continue the Huo family's style. At the beginning, he could live quietly without revealing himself, and had a harmonious relationship with Miss Fang Jia and the former Qingwu champion Huang Fu, but the fight between Fang Jia and the Alliance Spinning Factory and Hongkou Gang gradually involved him in the affairs of the country.
