A Very Special Love is about two young people with totally different backgrounds but they discover that love truly knows no barriers. Sarah plays Laida, the breadwinner of her family. John Lloyd is Miggy of the Montenegro clan, the owner of several businesses including a publishing firm that he manages. Laida is hired as an editorial assistant of one of the magazines named Bachelor, which Miggy publishes. The boss decides to make Laida his own personal assistant and even forces to pretend to be his girlfriend during an event. Pretty soon, Laida's dedication to her job and the special attention that she was receiving from the big boss caught the attention of the other employees. She became the butt of jokes and gossip started being spread about her in the office. To save face, Laida revealed a secret about Miggy, which, of course angered the male executive. When Miggy reacted to her embarrassing revelation, Laida defended herself by citing the faults that she saw in him: that he was a snob and a braggart. Upon realizing his mistakes, Miggy apologized to Laida and promised to change. They became good teammates and eventually, became a couple as well.

The film was produced by Star Cinema and is released nationwide on March 13, 2013.[2][3] This marks as the first solo film of the the tandem of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla in a leading role following their roles in the ensemble films, 24/7 in Love and Sisterakas in 2012. The film was shown in theaters for only two weeks though it managed gross over ₱60 million which is in line with Star Cinema's previous film A Moment In Time. "Must Be Love" follows the love story of Patricia, better known as "Patchot" played by (Kathryn Bernardo) and her childhood best friend Ivan (Daniel Padilla). But what will Patchot do if she starts falling in love with her best friend?. And what if Ivan only sees her as a 'best friend'? This problem will develop when another girl enters Ivan's life. As the film begins, we see Owen (Rico Blanco) and Mariella (Angelica Panganiban) are fighting in a car by a lake. It appears that Owen has left his wife to be with Mariella, and is angry that Mariella is not willing to make the same sacrifice. The fight turns violent, and Owen has hit Mariella through the car window. Mariella tries to escape from the car, and the scene cuts to flashback. We see Mariella telling her husband, Ivan (Dingdong Dantes), that her best friend, Samantha (Bettina Carlos) needs company and she drives off into the night. Later that evening, their daughter Angel (Millares) comes to Ivan looking for her mother, and Ivan tells Angel that her mother has gone away.There is a car that passes by in the area where a bloody Mariella is looking for help, in the middle of a rainstorm. The driver and his passenger are singing Christmas carols in the car, Mariella knows she is dead.

She forgives him, and the movie ends on that note.

Lav Diaz's nine-hour drama Heremias stars Ronnie Lazaro as the title character. He is a traveling craftsman who, early in the film, decides to separate from the group of fellow merchants with whom he has been traveling. During his time alone, a vicious hurricane leaves him without his ox or any of his goods. As he wanders, he learns a great deal about the various people he meets upon his travels. He eventually sees a group of drug-fueled teenagers plan to rape a young woman. Although he attempts to tell several people about the plan, nobody listens. In the forgotten town of Cupang in the Philippines, a young woman named Elsa announces that she has seen the Virgin Mary -- and then demonstrates a new-found ability to heal the sick. Soon the whole village has become the center of international attention as people come from all over for statues of the saints and bottles of the village's holy water. Among the hordes of visitors is a skeptical film director intent on visually recording Elsa's healing powers -- and without his knowing it, some frames capture a secret Elsa has kept from the world for a long time, a secret which led to her sister's suicide. The film is both philosophical and political. The filmmaker seems to have been set up as a representation of the artist who believes his art is a simple transcript of reality and finds himself confounded by the morality of condoning “untruth” by his failure to expose the outrage on the “miracle-maker.” The political aspect, in retrospect, is a damning comment on the deceptions being foisted by the Marcos dictatorship on the Filipino -- the fiction that Martial law had brought about the “miracle” of eradicating poverty and unrest in Philippine society. Himala won the Viewer's Choice Award for the Best Film of all Time from the Asia-Pacific Region in the 2008 CNN Asia Pacific Screen Awards.
