Song Zhu, the third young miss of the Song family, rebels against arranged marriages in pursuit of true love. She is the odd one out in a family of intellectuals. Song Zhu and Xiao Yu develop an immediate dislike for each other upon meeting that eventually blossoms into a sweet romance.

The Song family is well-known for producing a long line of scholars. There is no one in their family who isn't a literary prodigy except for the third daughter Song Zhu.
