"Bad Love" follows the lives of five people.

So Won is 29-years-old and has a high school level education. She works as a clerk at a fabric store. So Won possesses a bright and honest personality. Her dream is to become a designer. Her twin sister is Eun Hye. Eun Hye's personality is completely different from So Won's. Eun Hye is feminine and quiet. Both sisters were accepted into a university, but, due to their financial situation, only Eun Hye was able to attend. To this day, Eun Hye feels guilt about that.

Jae Hyuk works as a designer. He is the first son of Chairman Han, who runs the Noyoo Group. Jae Hyuk fell in love with Eun Hye at first sight and they live together despite objections from Jae Hyuk's family.

Jae Hyuk has a younger stepbrother, Min Hyuk. Min Hyuk desperately wants to receive recognition from his father. Meanwhile, Yeon Soo works as a contract employee at Noyoo Group. When she was little, she lived off So-Won’s family. She wants to have successful life, but, in reality, she is still poor.

Set in backdrops of Seoul’s most popular tourist spots, including Han River and Bukchon, it is a story about a Korean American writer, Daniel (Jin Young) , who was adopted by a family in the US when he was 10 years old. He comes back to Korea to meet his family, including his mother who had no option but to put her son up for adoption. During his trip, Daniel meets Yeo Jin (Kwon Mina), the editor helping Daniel (Jinyoung) with the publication of his book in Korea and the two soon realize some undeniable chemistry between them.

Yoo Ji Na (Uhm Jung Hwa) has been a popular singer for the past 20 years, but she holds pain inside because of something she abandoned when she was younger. As the gangs fight over the rights to various plots, Yong Ki is captured and interrogated by a rival gang.

Jong-Dae (Lee Min-Ho) and Yong-Ki (Kim Rae-Won) grew up in an orphanage like real brothers. After they leave the orphanage, they make a living by picking up paper and empty bottles. Jong-Dae then becomes involved in a struggle of interests over development in Gangnam, Seoul. In the process, he lives with Gil-Soo (Jung Jin-Young) and Sun-Hye (Seol Hyun) as they accept Jong-Dae like a family member. Jong-Dae also becomes a gang member.
