To make matters worse, after her home address is revealed and her house is set on fire, she loses her parents as a result. And yet still, the digital tattoo remains on the internet. Suffering emotional scars, she ended up being taken in by her grandmother, where she lived a rough life. 10 years on, just as Shoko is deciding to end her life, she happens to see her former happy classmates on TV. At that moment, she vows instead to take revenge on them, and Tokumichi, regretful that he could not help in the past, lends her his support as her partner in revenge.

He was known as a studious student up to this point. Kenichi meets Mayumi, who seems like a femme fatale. He falls in love with her.

Tokino Mitani runs a watch shop, located on a street far from the downtown area. She is 20-years-old and inherited the watch shop from her grandfather. Unknown to most, she is also an excellent private detective and offers an alibi cracking service. She can crack someone's false alibi by using logic based on time and a watch. She gets payed 5,000 yen for that service.

Yoshiyuki Saji used to be an elite police officer, but he tried to uncover corruption within the police department. This caused Yoshiyuki Saji to receive a demotion to a police station in a rural city. He moves alone there, leaving behind his wife and child. He lives at a boarding house, where Tokino Mitani lives. Yoshiyuki Saji does not get along with the other detectives there. He struggles to solve a case and he hears about Tokino Mitani's ability as an alibi cracker. He doesn't want to ask for her help, because of his pride as a police officer, but he requests her help on a case.

Natsume Seiichi runs a flower shop. He is single and has peaceful days working with flowers, which he enjoys. Meanwhile, Kiho runs a ramen restaurant near the flower shop. The ramen restaurant was left to her from her father, but the restaurant is about to close down for good.

Nagisa is 17 years old and is in his 2nd year of high school. He is apart from his parents and lives alone in the seaside town of Fujisawa in Kanagawa. He is passionate about surfing and works at a bathhouse in a hostel on the island Enoshima linked to Fujisawa. Shun is the same age as Nagisa and visits Fujisawa for spring break. They meet and develop a relationship more than friendship. However, the surfing equipment store owner’s daughter Chika has been secretly in love with Nagisa.

Synopsis:Eureka is a drama, set mainly in rural Japan, and is mostly shot in sepia tone. It tells the story of a young boy and girl, Naoki Tamura and Kozue Tamura (Masaru Miyazaki and Aoi Miyazaki, who are real-life siblings) who are on a bus when it is hijacked by a crazed killer. They, along with the bus driver, Makoto Sawai (Koji Yakusho), are the only survivors and flee together. But upon their attempted return to their normal lives, Makoto becomes a suspect in a series of murders and the children become orphaned. i've watched aoyamas latest movie 'sad vacation' just a few days ago. i was well aware that he intended it as a sequel to 'yûreka', but what i didn't know is that he refers much more to this one here than to his y2k masterpiece (at least as far as asano tadanobu and the main plot is concerned). so if you plan to see his new one, make sure you've seen his very first.

Dogami Tamaki, the director of Dogami General Hospital, entrusts her nephew and successor, the surgeon Moriyama Suguru, with the role of acting director and sets off to travel around the world on a luxury liner. Unaccustomed to the work of a hospital director, Moriyama flounders. And yet he gets increasingly carried away and behaves outrageously within the hospital. Meanwhile, a hospital patient, Hirabayashi Fumie, has been complaining about a sluggishness of her whole body and pain in the right shoulder. The results of a thorough examination indicate that she has developed angiosarcoma of the liver, a type of malignant tumour. If nothing is done, she will live for an average of six months. The surgeon Sagara Kosuke decides that immediate surgery is necessary, but determines that it will be difficult to pull off the surgery on his own. He asks Moriyama to authorise the surgery and for support from all surgeons. However, Moriyama dismisses his request because the risk is high. Sagara gives encouragement to an anxious Fumie. At the same time, he gets Shibuya Shoko, a medical representative of drug company SI, to obtain the contact of Tanabe, a former House of Representative member of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. What is Sagara’s scheme?

18 months after the successful joint operation between Donoue General Hospital and Saito Teaching Hospital. Hiroki Sakai adjusts pins in pachinko machines for a living. It's a dull existence, but Sakai seems to have made his peace with it. One day he runs into his former co-worker, Mizuguchi, a twitchy sort who managed a parlor before yakuza goons beat him up and robbed the place. Now he is obsessed with the thought of vengeance against his assailants. Soon afterward, he runs into Rie -- the daughter of his boss - who has suddenly blossomed into voluptuous womanhood and who is eagerly hoping to improve her relationship with Sakai. Later, he finds himself the target of yakuza aggression when the gang's boss comes to believe that Sakai is the bearer of a coveted envelope. Though a sensible and retiring sort by nature, he realizes that the only way to end this unwanted adventure is to rescue his boss, Tsumura, from the clutches of the yakuza.
