The story is now set in a sci-fi-esque Xinyuan Civilization Year 253 where rising crime rate and its relation to "zero-degree empathy" have become a topic of interest. The murder of a deliveryman leads to a criminal organization and the culprit turns out to be someone with "zero-degree empathy". Police officer Luo Wei Zhao who is in charge of the case finds that things are not as simple as they seem. In subsequent cases, the wealthy Pei Su also seems to be caught in the middle.

The three friends Ma Dong Shan, Han De Chang and Song Tian Ming set up a restaurant together. Thirty years later, Ma Dong Shan has fallen ill, Han De Chang died early and Song Tian Ming lost his son. Therefore, Ma Dong Shan, who is the chairman, wants his daughter Ma Ke Ai to inherit the restaurant and calls her back from abroad. Upon hearing about her father’s illness, she immediately returns back home. After a series of accidents happen, Ke Ai realizes that there must be some big secret behind it. Together with Xia Yu Xing by her side, Ke Ai withstands all upcoming hardships and also finds love along the way.

Zhang Zhe, a genius student, and Zhang Nan, a handsome swimmer, couldn't understand each other. They did not expect to meet each other at the same university. Zhe is a mathematical genius, but has a social phobia; Nan is an athlete, but he hates being used as a racing machine by his father. The two men help each other by the means of mutual encouragement.
