Oh Geun Tae is a country boy with a booming baritone who is discovered by aspiring singer-songwriter Lee Jang Hui and thrust into the bustling world of Seoul’s iconic folk music café—C’est Si Bon. In Korea, 1970s was the dark ages of military autocratic regime as well as an era of revolutionary upheaval of pop culture lead by energetic youth. After performing in shabby clubs in a town hosting a U.S. military base, Sang-kyu, a singer, and Man-sik, a guitarist, form Devils, a rock group of six members They participate in a vocal band contest in Seoul. They make a strong impression with a shocking yet amusing performance. Devils achieve stardom playing at a Go-Go dance club called Nirvana. Mimi, who had followed them to Seoul, also becomes a fashion icon with her dance moves and stylish clothes. However, their heydays dont last long. One of their members dies from a fire at the club, and due to oppressive rule of military dictatorship, the clubs close down and they cant perform anymore. In despair, Sang-kyu plans a passionate concert again called Devils Recital.

Sung-chan is a top detective of the special crime squad. He is notorious for punishing the opponent who hurts his pride. When Hyun-min impersonates Sung-chan and robs a cash transport car under the daylight, and seizes $10 billion worth of smuggled gold right before the cops eyes, Sung-chan is outraged. He cannot let this criminal slip through. Sung-chan goes after Hyun-min like a wild beast going after its prey, but Hyun-min cunningly threads through the investigation, even leaving traces in the crime scenes on purpose to allure and provoke Sung-chan.

Best buddies Min Jae, Dong Wan and Chang Seop share all the common problems of high school seniors. They struggle against their parents and other peers to establish their own identities, fall for girls, eat, drink, and stress about college entrance exams and what school they'll get into.

Min Jae's father is a commercial pilot who expects his son to follow in his footsteps. However, not only does Min Jae NOT share his father's ambition, his grades and test scores don't qualify him to get into an aviation program. Meanwhile, his neighbour and crush, Soo Jin, has decided she wants to become a veterinarian, despite the fact she's too afraid of animals to even touch a puppy! Sadly, her family takes very little interest in her future until the night her mother overhears another girl confessing her love to Soo Jin. Mom decides what her daughter REALLY needs is to take ballet classes at the local community center. "It will be good for your posture, and help you look more like a real girl", she says.

Unfortunately for ballet instructor Mrs. Yang, though, her class is on the verge of being cancelled due to lack of attendance. Her only enthusiastic students are a waiter at the neighbourhood Chinese restaurant and the video store owner. Even the middle-aged housewives who joined are quitting after a few weeks because they aren't losing the weight they'd expected to. The lives of all of these characters collide one night when Mrs. Yang catches Min Jae driving drunk, without a license, and in his father's borrowed car. She blackmails him and his friends into taking ballet, thereby saving her class from being cancelled.

Hyun Ju is a 29-year-old woman who believes that she has nothing to show for herself, except a successful relationship with her boyfriend. One day, her boyfriend So Hoon, who is sweet and gentle, goes to a department store to shop for her and ends up stuck in a broken elevator with the famous, gorgeous movie star Da Young, who is soon attracted to him for his easygoing and down-to-earth personality.

Na Nan, soon to turn 30, is at a crossroads in her life. She has been dumped by her boyfriend, then gets demoted at work from designer to the restaurant manager. For support, she relies on her best friend, promiscuous party girl Dong Mi, who shares an apartment with the shy and studious Jeong Joon. Eventually, Na Nan attracts the attention of Su Heon, and the two start dating. But when she learns that Su Heon is being transferred to the United States, she must choose between making a go of her career as a restaurateur, or starting a new life overseas.

In 1986, in the province of Gyunggi, in South Korea, a second young and beautiful woman is found dead, raped and tied and gagged with her underwear. Detective Park Doo Man and Detective Cho Yong Koo, two brutal and stupid local detectives without any technique, investigate the murder using brutality and torturing the suspects, without any practical result. Then Detective Seo Tae Yoon from Seoul comes to the country to help the investigations and is convinced that a serial killer is killing the women. When a third woman is found dead in the same "modus-operandi", the detectives find leads of the assassin.

A genius serial killer named Shin Hyun (Cho Seung-Woo), who murdered six women, walks into a police station carrying a bag. He dumps the bag over an officer's desk and mutilated body pieces of a woman fall everywhere. All the cops stop in their tracks, utterly surprised. Shin Hyun just laughs out loud. A year later, at a garbage dump, the bodies of a high school girl and her unborn child are discovered and Detective Kim (Yum Jung-Ah) and Detective Kang (Ji Jin-Hee) are assigned to the case. But in the meantime, another corpse of a pregnant woman is discovered, and Detectives Kang and Kim feel as if Shin Hyun's serial murders a year ago are somehow related to this case as well. The case grows more mysterious as all the suspects Detectives Kang and Kim find are killed off one by one. The last, sixth victim is left and it's a race against time to find out what evil force is behind these brutal murders.

Jong Du is autistic who ignores society's rules; unaware or unconcerned with the consequences of his actions. Unable to hold a job and always on the edge, he has been in jail three times: for attempted rape, for causing an accident while drunk, and for armed robbery.

On the spur of the moment, he decides to visit and apologize to the family of the man killed by his brother. When he arrives, he finds a husband and wife moving out of their apartment, leaving the husband's seriously disabled sister, Gong Ju, for the neighbors to look after.

Jong Du and Gong Ju slowly begin a friendship based on their mutual feelings of isolation. He provides her with the closeness she desperately needs; and she has found someone to care for, for the first time in her life.

As their relationship becomes known, both their families are scandalized; and aided by the prejudices of society, transform the innocence of their love into something sick and twisted.
