During the war between Wei and Shu, the Shu defeated the Wei using the crossbows they make. In order to attain this powerful weapon, the Wei sent numerous spies to infiltrate the Shu kingdom and steal it. Chen Gong and Xun Xu are Shu spies who have infiltrated Wei kingdom for many years. After knowing the plan of Wei, they decided to work separately to stop it. Chen Gong continued to stay in Wei kingdom, while Xun Xu went back to Shu kingdom to investigate. In the midst of investigation, Xun Xu finds out the thief of the crossbows - Mei Chong. He also discovers a highly skilled spy named Zhu Long who is ambushed in Shu kingdom, who is waiting for the opportunity to initiate the Qing Ping plan. Xun Xu devised a scheme to hook Mei Chong, using it as an opportunity to destroy the spy network in Shu kingdom.

Despite eventually capturing Gao Chengtang, a corrupted officer, the real Zhu Long is actually someone else. Chen Gong also ends his spy career in Wei kingdom, and goes back to Shu kingdom. Together, Xun Xu and Cheng Gong investigates the Zhu Long incident and discovers the truth behind the Qing Ping plan.

It depicts the transformation of state-owned enterprises after China's economic reform. A Huafu subsidiary in Jingzhou faces a crisis due to changes in the market environment and problems within the enterprise.

Founded in the 1930s, Huafu Company was the among the first batch of state-owned enterprises in China. As the company is about to usher in its 80th anniversary, its subsidiary, Jingzhou Huafu, falls into a huge predicament. Huafu Chairman Lin Manjiang sends Qi Ben'an to Jingzhou to resolve the issue. After Qi Ben'an assumes his new role, he realizes that he has many hurdles to overcome.

On one hand, he has to unite the cadres and the masses that include individuals like Shi Hongxing to resolve the long-drawn conflicts between them. On the other hand, he must also win the support of the municipal party committee secretary and carefully maneuver the company's relationship with the local government. Throughout the process, Qi Ben’an never strays from his original intentions as he treads the proper path towards production and development and also accumulates a wealth of experience for the reform of state-owned enterprises.

On New Year’s Day in 1949, female accountant Huang Li Wen returns to her hometown Shanghai in order to commemorate her husband and comrade’s death. The story follows her transformation from a single successful woman to a full-time housewife with her architect husband and two kids.

Once, his family had got a very special piece of bronze by accident, but when they dug deeper, they traced and found a lost kingdom buried in the basin of north-west China named Xiwangmu Dynasty. Thus, Wu’s family recruited a group of expert raiders, including a mysterious stranger by the name of Zhang Qi Ling, and went deep into the ruins of the ancient city.

Lu Xiao Xing is a rookie cop when one night, she abandons her post to find her brother, an aspiring singer, and bring him back home after his constant rebellion. As they fight in the car, Xiao Xing loses control of the vehicle and crashes into a truck. As a result of the accident, her brother dies and she is left blind.

Three years later, Xiao Xing is living life as a blind woman. Amidst a string of female disappearances in the city, she tries unsuccessfully to persuade her former police academy senior to allow her another chance at being an officer. Upset and unable to come to terms with the rejection and her brother's death three years ago, Xiao Xing faces a weird experience when she calls for taxi.

Guizhou province 1975, a year before the end of the Cultural Revolution. Eleven-year-old Wang Han lives in a small town to which his family moved from Shanghai a few years earlier under the government's Third Front movement - to protect nationally important industries from possible attack by the Soviet Union by relocating them inland in remote, mountainous areas. At home, Wang Han lives with his actor father, who encourages him to become a painter so he can "live freely", his strict mother who is always worrying about money, and his younger sister. At school, he has three pals: tall, bespectacled Weijun, chubby "Louse" and little "Mouse". They all spy on pretty fellow student Xie Juehong, whom one day faints after being summoned to see the school's headmistress, miss Zhou. One day, Wang Han is made leader of group gymnastics at his school but is told he must first get a new white shirt; reluctantly, his mother uses valuable clothes coupons to buy the material. Then, playing by the river, Wang Han has his new shirt stolen by a man on the run. The fugitive, who uses it to staunch his wounds, turns out to be Juehong's elder brother, Xie Fulai. He promises Wang Han that one day he'll replace the shirt, as long as the boy doesn't reveal where he's hiding.
