Segawa Kiichi or otherwise known as "Keebou" has recently moved back to his hometown due to a business transfer after years of life in Tokyo. Kiichi is a mediocre salesman for a medical-equipment manufacturer.

One day, when he goes drinking at a hostess pub with one of his colleagues, he is confronted with a former gang member turned yakuza leader, Tagawa. Kiichi used to be a leader of a small gang called "Who Are You" back in his youth himself and the two are familiar faces. Tagawa tells his group that Kiichi let his own team get beaten up ten years ago and that he is the most cowardly living man of the century. Tagawa and his yakuza group have captured a 10-year-old girl for some reason, and although he does not want to get involved at first, Kiichi ends up helping the little girl escape from them. Soon, he pays the price for it. When members of Kiichi's old gang, "Who Are You" learn of their leader's return and the adverse circumstance he is in, they round up to take on the yakuza to save him despite their resentment for their leader's betrayal a decade ago.

The story takes place during the reign of the Ryukyu Kingdom (19th Century). Nakama plays Mazuru, a young woman who wants to complete her studies despite her gender restrictions, so she takes advantage of the disappearance of her step brother and disguises herself as an Eunuch named Son Neion, and passes the exam to be a royal govenrment's official. This is her first time having to play both a male and female character. Her supporting cast includes Tanihara Shosuke as her lover and Takaoka Saki as her enemy.

Kagura Akane (Horikita Maki) is the only daughter of a family who runs a teppanyaki place in downtown Tokyo. Akane had always been proud of her father Tetsuma, who was called the "No.1 teppanyaki chef in Japan". Growing up in such an environment, she naturally acquired "teppanyaki skills". However, when her mother died of illness, her father lost his energy to work and disappeared. Since then, Akane has managed and protected the restaurant all by herself. One day, out of the blue, she is visited by Erena (Katase Nana), the rich daughter of a major food company, who orders Akane to move out at once because her father had borrowed money against his restaurant. Though feeling disappointed, Akane makes up her mind to close the store. But when her father's friend, Kurogane (Jinnai Takanori), shows her "Ittetsu", a grilling plate that Akane's father cherished, it reignites her passion towards teppanyaki. In order to protect the restaurant, she embarks on a journey with Shinta (Tsukamoto Takashi) to search for her father, but wherever she goes, she ends up getting involved in culinary battles.

Sawano has lost his job due to depression and isn't on good terms with his wife and 6-year-old son. After a failed suicide attempt, he discovers 7 letters which had not been delivered and sets out to give them to their intended recipients in a way of counting down to the end of his life.

Kenta (Ryuta Sato) doesn't have a regular job. He then learns that he has take care of his nephew Taichi for the foreseeable future. Taichi is the son of Kenta's deceased older sister and is in the 3rd grade. Taichi then begins to live with Kenta. One day, Kenta finds a mysterious drop of sugar which belongs to Taichi. If the mysterious drop is eaten, that person's strength and senses becomes 10x stronger for the next 10 minutes. Kenta's friend, Police Officer Shunji (Takashi Tsukamoto) learns of the candy and forces Kenta to become a hero and solve cases.

July 1590, Odawara. Toyotomi Hideyoshi's army had surrounded the Odawara Castle for over three months, hoping to conquer this last obstacle to his dream of the country's unification.

Standing at the gate of the castle, a lone man facing the menacing guards shouted out: "Do not throw your lives away. Treasure living!". Not long after, the castle gates opened and the reigning lord surrendered. The name of that man is Kuroda Kanbee. An excellent military strategist, he worked hand-in-hand with Hideyoshi to unify the country.

Kanbee's family had fled to Harima, and were relatively poor. As the protege of Kodera Masamoto, Kanbee was very much trusted and relied upon by his lord liege. However, Kodera was suspicious of Kanbee's father, Mototaka, thinking that he was trying to usurp his power. One day, Kodera decided to match-make Kanbee with the daughter of Kushihashi, another one of his vassals. Kushihashi's son, who was of the same age as Kanbee, intensely disliked Kanbee and objected to the match. Since this was the order of Kodera, they had no choice but to marry the youngest daughter, Teru, to Kanbee. On Kuroda clan side, in order to assuage their lord liege's suspicions, Mototaka decided to step down, and made Kanbee the head of the clan. Kanbee was but 22 years old. Kanbee and Teru were married, and they were blessed with a son soon after, but when many years had passed and yet Teru couldn't seem to conceive a second child, Kanbee decided to adopt the young children of his vassals as his proteges who became known as "Kuroda's warriors".

When Kanbee turned 30, a revolutionary young lord was slowly laying siege to all the various shogunates, aiming for a unified Japan. Harima became the place where the clash between Oda and Mori Terumoto was set. Kanbee was very attracted to Oda's unification plans, and had gone to Gifu Castle to meet up with him. There, he became acquainted with Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and soon became Hideyoshi's right-hand man, marking the birth of Gunshi Kanbee.

Eisuke Yamate (Osamu Mukai) is busy preparing dishes with two other men for the opening of his French restaurant "Le Petit Chou." Chie Okusu (Miori Takimoto) is a college student who dreams of meeting her perfect match and having dinner with him at the French restaurant like "Le Petit Chou" for her birthday. On the day of Chie's birthday, she goes to "Le Petit Chou" with her female friend. When they arrive, they are surprised to find that the restaurant looks completely different from what they saw in the magazine. Furthermore, the name of the restaurant has been changed to "Gasterea."

Chie and her friend then notice a "Le Petit Chou" flyer nearby, which points passersby to another location. They go towards the direction that the flyer points and soon notice a man, Eisuke Yamate, hanging the "Le Petit Chou" flyers along other buildings. They decide to follow Eisuke Yamate and he eventually goes inside a warehouse. When Eisuke comes out, he brings out an electric guitar and proceeds to smash it into the ground. Eisuke then notices Chie and her friend and tells them that "Le Petit Chou" will have its opening in the evening. Chie and her friend then realize that the warehouse they are standing in front is "Le Petit Chou."

3 months before...

Eisuke Yamate is a member of rock group "Rock Head," which he formed with friends 15 years ago. His mother is a chef who specializes in French cuisine. Eisuke was also born with a natural talent for cooking and until the age of 13, dreamed of becoming a French chef. Eisuke even learned to speak French and practiced cooking different dishes. At the age of 13, Eisuke heard rock music for the first time and felt an immediate connection with the music. Soon afterwards, Eisuke dreamed of becoming of a rock star, while forgetting about his culinary dreams. By the age of 29, Eisuke's band "Rock Head" still hasn't achieved very much success. The band's lead singer then quits the group. The other two members of "Rock Head" start talking about pursuing other lines of work. The group attempts to make a pact that if they are still not recognized by the age of 30 they will quit for good. Even before that pact can go into place, the band decides to breakup that day.

Later that same evening, Eisuke goes to his mother's French restaurant "Le Petit Chou." A man named Tokio Aso (Goro Inagaki) tells Eisuke's mom that he could renovate the restaurant to make her more money, but Eisuke's mom turns his offer down. When Eisuke arrives, he tells his mother that he now wants to work as an assistant chef at her restaurant. Eisuke's mother encourages him to do what will make him happy. While they are having their discussion, Eisuke's mother suddenly collapses and dies. After his mother's funeral, Eisuke tells his father that he will work at "Le Petit Chou" as its chef. His father informs Eisuke that he already sold the restaurant to Tokio Aso after he promised to keep the restaurant exactly like it is. When Eisuke and his father walk over to "La Petit Chou" they start to hear loud sounds coming from the direction of the restaurant. They run over to the restaurant and discover that is being demolished. Eisuke and his father confronts Tokio Aso about his promise, but Tokio Aso just ignores them. Eisuke then decides to open a restaurant at a warehouse with the same name as his mom's place.

Eisuke brings over the two former members of his band "Rock Head" and they prepare for the grand opening of "La Petit Chou," which will have its opening on the same day as rival French restaurant "Gasterea.

This love comedy is based on the play of the same name, both of which are directed by Kokami Shoji, who heads the Third Stage Theatre Company. A female playwright who has fallen into a heavy slump presents an unreasonable demand to a forgettable TV producer. Its three-level structure (reality, a play-within-a-play, and a play-within-a-play-within-a-play) is unique. Mayumi (Fukada Kyoko) is a popular playwright who receives an assignment to write the script for a special TV drama but she can't get any words down on the page. When pressed by a mediocre producer named Mukai (Shiina Kippei), she gives him an ultimatum: If he wants the script, he'll have to go out with her.

A man inadvertently kills his uncle. A woman witnesses this act. These two people fall in love and flee to Tokyo. A detective investigates their past.

Ogiwara Saki, 33, is a woman who does not go with the flow of society but forges her own path. She hates flattering men and trying to be nice to people of the same sex. Saki's good friend, Osabe Riko, who is a mother of two children, was high school classmates with Saki, but is in fact 35, because she had deliberately declared herself to be two years younger. She has no qualms of lying for the sake of female happiness, pretending to be married to a man of wealth and blessed with children. Because her personality is the exact opposite, this accentuates Saki's uncompromising way of life.

"Say Hello for Me" is a love story and talks about three people's childhood friendship and their reunion after 15 years of separation.

Shinsuke Kuwano (Abe Hiroshi), a successful architect at 40, enjoys living by himself. He doesn't like people but somehow is able to design wonderful houses for them.

He has a routine of making himself a delicious dinner and then relaxing to classical music in his easy chair. (He likes to pretend he is the conductor.) One night, he plays the music loud enough to make his next door neighbor, Michiru Tamara (Kuninaka Ryoko) knock on his door to complain. When Kuwano answers the door, he suffers a terrible stomach pain and collapses to the floor. Lucky for him, his neighbor Michiru is nice enough to accompany him to the hospital, where he is treated by Dr. Natsumi Hayasake (Natsukawa Yui). He is really rude to Natsumi, but she is still determined to treat him.

Afterwards, Michiru and Natsumi become part of Kuwano's life. They make friends with Kuwano's colleagues Eiji (Tsukamoto Takashi) and Maya Sawazaki (Takashima Reiko). They all enjoy talking about how strange and eccentric Kuwano is. Is it possible that someone would ever want to marry him?

Kaoru dreamily gazes from her bedroom window each morning just before dawn. She can see a stretch of the beach in front of her parent's house on a hill in Kamakura but focuses upon the activity at the bus stop where Koji and his two best friends meet before going surfing. The appearance of the sun causes her to lowers the blinds and go to sleep for she suffers from Xeroderma Pigmentosum (XP) and exposure to the sun's rays has had the potential to kill her. At night, she walks to the train station, plays her guitar and sings songs she has written, commonly returning home just a few minutes before it starts getting light. One morning, she is at the bus stop singing when Koji arrives.

Next door to Chuo TV's offices is "Manhattan," a coffee shop for aficionados. The owner's (Masahiro Matsuoka) passion for coffee is almost a sickness and all he wants is for his customers to enjoy their coffee. He is a man of few words. If he has to say something, he gets his waiter Shinobu Gamo (Takashi Tsukamoto) to speak on his behalf. Owner's real name is unknown. He would prefer to be addressed as the shops' "Master" rather than its owner - not that anyone is aware of this. He gives his all to coffee. Despite his wishes, his regular customers don't really come to taste the coffee. They are there because of love. They use his shop as a place for dates, marriage proposals and break-ups. He doesn't show it, but it saddens him that his customers are so preoccupied with affairs of the heart and not the coffee.

One day, Nobuko Akabane (Kyoko Koizumi) visits his shop. Nobuko, who got caught up in a messy extra-marital affair which resulted in her having to leave her job at a top company, now drives a taxi. She looks anxious, as if she is waiting for someone and leaves the shop without touching her coffee. This happens again the next day. Nobuko had a customer - dance instructor Hideki Bessho (Mitsuhiro Oikawa) - who left his mobile phone in the taxi. Nobuko has made two appointments to meet with Bessho to return the phone, but on both occasions Bessho has failed to show up. One day, she appeared at the coffee shop all dressed up and tipped a cup of coffee over Bessho's head. The master watches developments in Nobuko's love life with great interest. He wants her to enjoy good coffee so decides to help her with her love life. But no sooner has he decided to do this that other love-related troubles begin to emerge. Be it screenwriter Maki Chikura (Aiko Morishita), voice actor Satoshi Doigaki (Suzuki Mastuo), new announcer Shiori Emoto (Wakana Sakai), actor Eiichiro Funakoshi (played by himself) or the waiter Gamo. And even the Master finds himself embroiled in affairs of the heart.
