After executing the perpetrator of a murder case unsolved for thirty years, the assassin nicknamed "Super Sleuth" announces he'll continue to bring his personal brand of justice to other elusive killers. The police, believing this a challenge to their crime-solving abilities, assign their own super sleuth, Wang Zhenfeng, along with retired "super sleuth" Uncle Xiangyun, to analyze long-dormant cold cases and find the killers before they're killed. A succession of successfully executed Super Sleuth-style murders leads Wang to doubt Uncle Xiangyun's true identity. Meanwhile, the three super sleuths engage in a battle of wits before the next execution takes place.

The police have just accidentally shot the gangster boss, Shun, in the head. Chief Inspector Chen reluctantly brings Shun to the Emergency Room at Victoria Hospital, but he's more concerned with covering up his team member's mistake. As Dr. Tong tries to convince Shun to have the surgery to remove the bullet lodged in his brain, Inspector Chen is more interested in interrogating Shun about his fellow gang members.

Tong and Chen both take their work seriously, but Chen is so fed up with his job that he couldn't care less if he follows the letter of the law. Tong accordingly holds Chen in contempt for his aggressive disinterest in his victim's well-being and rebuffs him every time he tries to prevent her from doing her job.

Shun, the clever criminal, provokes both of his captors, because as long as he is handcuffed to a hospital gurney, he has control over both Tong and Chen. He knows the etiquette and protocol that govern Tong's job and manipulates her lack of prior knowledge. Shun knows that his best opportunity for escape is at the hospital. He is trying to delay as much as possible, in order to give a chance for his gang to come rescue him. Chen realizes what game Shun is playing, but feigns ignorance, because he wants a chance to capture the entire gang. Tension builds between the three very different personalities, as the night progresses.

Billion-dollar company Jones & Sunn is going public. After a set-back in life, former Hong Kong undercover detective Pau Kai-chung (Chin Siu-ho) heads to the Wudang Mountains in Hubei, China to get away from life. At Wudang he re-connects with his former marital arts senior Mo Yee-shan (Yuen Qiu), who now operates an inn and martial arts school in the Wudang Mountains. She also takes in a mentally retarded man named Ho Ching-tung (Derek Kok) with a mysterious past. Kai-chung takes up a job as a chef at Yee-shan's inn. All is peaceful until a group of martial art students lead by Yee-shan's daughter Lok Yeung (Tavia Yeung) arrives. Lok Yeung and Kai-chung had previously met in Hong Kong, their encounter in Wudang brings back painful memories for Kai-chung. But Lok Yeung's true intentions for returning to Wudang is to persuade her mother to sell the inn and martial arts school to a Hong Kong investment group. Yee-shan makes a deal with Lok Yeung, that she will agree to sell the inn and martial arts school if Lok Yeung can win a competition within three months. Yee-shan pretends to be injured so Kai-chung would takeover as instructor at the martial art school. Soon Ching-tung regains his mind and exposes Kai-chung's true identity, which puts all at Wudang in danger.

During the early years of the Republic era, in the North-East region of China, the people are suffering from the power struggle among the local Warlords, bandits, and Japanese invaders. Warlord Lam (Sammo Hung), is not a leader of great vision, but having a patriotic heart, stands firm in his own beliefs, despite the several solicitations and temptations from Japan. The only ‘paradise’ within the region is ‘Lucky Town’, the one place where no one dared to attack. Rumors abound that this place is cursed, for whenever anyone attempted to invade Lucky Town, they would disappear and vanish without a trace. In reality, there are seven kung fu masters who have retreated into the shadows and resided here.

The second series sees Ko's resignation from the Yan Wo Hospital; he is later transferred to a new psychiatric department, the Forensics Psychiatry Department, of Bok On Hospital, where he formally diagnoses criminals.

Little does Phoenix knows, years ago, in an act of revenge, Madame Rose kidnapped Phoenix when she was young, then brainwashed and trained her into a skilled assassin and that her father has been trying to find her ever since. There is no mission that Phoenix cannot complete. Ko Lap Yan, the Senior Psychiatrist of Yan Wo Hospital, is a competent and kind-hearted doctor who specializes in severe schizophrenia and even minor mental illnesses. Yan cures his patients not only by medication but also by psychological analysis. He diagnoses the cause with reference to the symptoms. The plot is interesting, intricate and extraordinary.

The psychiatrist Lin Chi Sum and the nurse Li Ying Chun are both good friends of Yan. Sum is keen on helping people. He has cured a patient suffering from a binge eating disorder Suen Ka Pik. They have overcome a lot of difficulties and become a couple. Yan is a divorced single father with a daughter.

After the failed marriage, he did not long for love affairs until he chanced upon an Inspector of the Serious Crime Unit, Mok Man Yee. They have gradually developed their relationship through a business contact. However, in order to avoid the recurrence of genetic and mental diseases, Yee detaches her feeling from Yan.
