"The World Between Us" is a 10-part, hour-long series that follows the aftermath of a mass shooting where the fates of all parties involved - the killer, the victims, the victims' families, the media and the defence teams are intertwined

Inspiration can come from the most unexpected places. Lu Da Xiang is a former professional baseball player who was fired because of his uncontrollable temper. He becomes a high school social studies teacher and is the homeroom teacher for the 8th Class of third-year students (final year of high school). Although Da Xiang is very blunt and temperamental, he truly cares about his students and wants to make sure they pass their exams to graduate.

Tang Ke Xin is a fellow English teacher as well as the school counselor. As she tries to help Da Xiang with his students, Li Kang Bao, a rival teacher for the 7th Class, doesn’t appreciate Da Xiang’s unconventional teaching methods.

Can Da Xiang accomplish his goal of ensuring that at least half of his homeroom class graduates?

Wan Ting, Wen Qi and Zhi Qing were best of friends in high school. They were like sisters, and at times they were closer then family. Wan Ting has lived blindly to life and is almost at the age of 31, Wen Qi on the other hand is going through a lightning divorce, and Zhi Qing is almost 30 soon but still wants to travel around the world enjoying life. They all travel to Macau for a crazy holiday.

Radio DJ Liang Xiao Shu is outgoing, straightforward, optimistic, and a little drama queen at heart. After finding out her boyfriend of three months is cheating on her, she is devastated. By chance encounter, she meets Zhou Zhen who comes from a former gangster family that has decided to keep their hands clean. Zhen is gentle, gracious, and upright, and he encourages Xiao Shu and tries to help her move on. Zhen becomes an employee at the radio station where Xiao Shu works by mistake and goes to great lengths to hide his true identity by impersonating a salesperson. Little does he know, the seed of love has already begun to grow.

World-wide famous hair salon Neo-Image has just opened. The beautiful hairstyles of the three popular hairstylists (Artz, Richie and Fernando) attract huge crowds. At this time, an external official came to them for help. There was an event called "The Chinese Hairstyle Competition" and they have found a part-time working young female hair-dresser, Xiao Bei, to compete against the French stylist to help advertise the French Hair Products. As this competition will greatly affect the country's status, the three guys decided to help.

Later, they find talent in Xiao Bei and trick her into working for Neo-Image, since she refused to cooperate without a fight. One day, Xiao Bei is about to be hit by a car when Artz pushes her away and saves her life. He was wearing a jacket with the number 23 on it. When Xiao Bei saw Richie wearing the jacket and assumed that he was her savior, and she fell for him. However, Richie leads a dangerous life and he lives without knowing if he will have a "tomorrow" or not. Xiao Bei volunteers at a retirement home. A coincidence occurs involving Xiao Bei and Artz visiting his grandma Li Lian at the same time. Grandma Li Lian realizes that they are the perfect couple and convinces Artz into admitting his true feelings for her before it's too late.

Story revolves around three sworn brothers namely Yu Hao, Shan Zi and Yang Xiong Qi. They are delinquents, fighting to gain what they want, though they have never officially joined any triads yet. Their leader Yu Hao falls for Xiao Yan Zi, who is the opposite of everything that the boys are. She is from a family with very good background and has a bright future as a budding pianist. An ambush on Yu Hao by a rival gang brings them together when Yan Zi saves Yu Hao.

So the story revolves around how they fall in love and how Yu Hao, in a bid to protect Yan Zi, ends up joining the triads in order to get protection.
