A high school with poor academic performance has various problematic students who cannot receive proper education due to abuse or poverty. The hot-blooded teachers here take the role of gathering these students and help them to get back on their feet.

Takemichi Hanagaki lives as a 26-year-old freeter. His life is basically miserable. One day, he learns from the news that Hinata Tachibana and her younger brother Naoto Tachibana were murdered by the Tokyo Manji Gang. Takemichi Hanagaki is stunned by the news because Hinata Tachibana was his first love during his middle school days.

The next day, Takemichi Hanagaki is pushed by someone on a station platform and falls onto the railway track. At that moment, he goes back 10 years into the past. There, he tells Naoto Tachibana that in 10 years, Hinata Tachibana will get murdered. This changes the present day. Now, Naoto Tachibana works as a detective and avoids being killed by the Tokyo Manji Gang, but Hinata Tachibana's fate is different. She is murdered by the Tokyo Manji Gang.

Takemichi Hanagaki then asks for help from Detective Naoto Tachibana. He wants to save Hinata Tachibana by going back in time to destroy the Tokyo Manji Gang.

"Underdog" follows three boxers who are all underdogs. Suenaga Akira is a boxer, who struggles to succeed as a boxer. Omura Ryuta is a young boxer, who grew up in an orphanage. Miyagi Shun challenges a boxer, following the plans of a TV program.

Nakagawa Saori is a chef apprentice at "Chez Nishijima", a prestigious French restaurant in Tokyo in year 2020. Despite winning various French cuisine contests, Saori does not appreciate her cookings and spends her days washing dishes. While Saori slowly loses her confidence and passion, she suddenly slips into Tokyo in year 1964. There, she meets Kikuchi Ryuichi, a cook at western restaurant "Jade-tei" and started training under him. Ryuichi is very dedicated to cooking despite the limited ingredients and cooking utensils as compared to the present days. He shows Saori what is really important in cooking and what she lacks as a cook.

Suda Tamio is an ordinary salaryman. He experiences various stress throughout his daily life. His only pleasure is to set out on trips to find "Zetsumeshi." Zetsumeshi refers to endangered meals, that may no longer exist in the future. While his wife Kanae and child go attend concerts by their favourite idol groups, he leaves home on Friday after work and returns home Saturday night.

Kazumasa and Kaoruko are in a troubled marriage and have agreed to divorce once their daughter's elementary school entrance exams are over. However, just before they are to rehearse for the family oral interview, they are informed of their daughter drowning in a pool. Rushing to the hospital, Kazumasa and Kaoruko are met with a heartbreaking situation.

Young Public Prosecutor Okino Keiichiro is assigned to the department of Tokyo Public Prosecutors Office which deals with violent cases. He is thrilled to work with Mogami Takeshi whom he admires. One day, an elderly money lender is killed and Matsukura Shigeo is identified as a suspect. He borrowed money from the victim. In his past, Shigeo testified in a female middle school murder case. Takeshi is aware of the heavy grief carried by the deceased girl's family and he tries his best to prove Shigeo's guilt.

So Utsumi doesn't have many friend. After school and before going to a private institute, he kills time by doing nothing on the riverside. One day, Shokichi Seto appears in front of him. Shokichi quit the soccer team and has nothing to do. They spend time together.

In front of the two guys, Ichigo Kashimura and Hatsumi, from the same high school, appear.

Shishido Joichiro (Hirano Kinari) cannot tolerate unreasonable things and bullying. After moving from one job to another because of his tendency to lose his temper, he immediately decides to join the private security firm Tokyo Fists at the invitation of its company president Wanibuchi Tsuyoshi (Murakami Jun). The firm is made up of a group of tough bodyguards who preserve peace on the streets at night. However, Shishido has to go through training first. If he is deemed appropriate, he will then be hired as an employee. He meets the capable but very overbearing Hachino Shinya (Yoon Hak), who will be his direct superior during the training. Although Shishido feels overwhelmed by the employees who show up, he slowly starts to grow up little by little.
