Xia Tian is a young, aspiring actress who finds herself taking on the identity of the daughter of the He family in a desperate move to protect her grandmother's house. Now, in the guise of a society princess, she and the wealthy adopted son of the He family, Cheng Xuan, unexpectedly fall in love as they work together in order to finally gain recognition from the family.

A corpse of a clown is found in a park. Detective Shirataka Amane of Musashino Higashi Police Station begins investigating with rookie detective Uzuka Shinsaku. They find a picture of the victim holding a balloon with the number 1 and the letters TTX on social media which indicates pufferfish poisoning. Shirataka intuitively suspects that this is an incriminating statement done by a serial killer, but Chief Investigator Fukukawa Saeko denies her. Detective Kusano Seiya and other personnel of MPD First Investigative Division join the investigation, then a second murder occurs. Shirataka recalls an unsolved kidnapping and murder case from two years ago that she still regrets.

The challenges firefighters in orange encounter are incredible, but the rigorous conditions they must first pass to get into orange are equally demanding. Yuuchi Kohinata, himself a former “Orange” member, trains potential firefighters for acceptance into Orange. Kohinata is both haunted and driven by his own experience responding to victims of the 1995 Kobe earthquake.
