Nishimura Toshiro works at a production company as a drama director. He has been having a hectic time, discussing the script for an ongoing drama with the female producer who is not satisfied with it. The proud and elitist Toshiro intends to make interesting works. But he does not realise that his mindset is elitist and old-fashioned, and that he tends to be chauvinistic. His life has gone smoothly so far and he believes he has everything. Toshiro proposes to his 29-year-old girlfriend, Kondo Akiko, whom he has been dating for three years. Well, from his perspective, he proposed because he feels responsible for her. Akiko is a modest-looking woman who has been supporting the busy Toshiro, doing the housework and cooking perfectly. But the day after his proposal, Akiko leaves the engagement ring behind and vanishes all of a sudden. Why did she leave him and why did she hide her identity during the time they spent together? Toshiro tries to search for Akiko but realises that he does not have any information that would provide clues. Meanwhile, Akiko resigns from her job at the place where she had told Toshiro that she worked and goes to work for the company that her mother runs. Toshiro gathers information on Akiko from Instagram and in the process of following her traces, his true nature along with the truth about her are revealed.

When he was just seven-years-old, Suei's mother blew herself up with dynamite in a love-pact suicide with the neighbor's son. Suei worked at a factory in the city after graduating from high school and then quit to go to Tokyo, where he plunged into the world of adult magazines after working as an illustrator and cabaret sign painter.

A three-timing 29 year-old man loses part of his memory after taking a nasty fall at a skating rink. The man, who works as pharmaceutical salesman, then discovers an engagement ring in his briefcase. Later, he comes across 3 different women who all claim to be his girlfriend. To figure out which of the women he planned to marry, he sets up dates with each of them. The choices are:

A perfectionist co-worker (Konishi Manami) who at the same pharmaceutical company.

A light-hearted prostitute (Maki Yoko) who works at one of the shops that the man delivers products to.

An ideal "Yamato nadeshiko" type of woman (Ikewaki Chizuru) who sometimes performs a one-woman puppet shows in the park.

The Saitama rappers are Ikku, Mighty and Tom, who together with three other local layabouts try to form a rap act called Sho-Gung. "We need to decide our style: east coast or west coast," proposes Ikku, to which Mighty replies "What do you mean? We don't have any oceans in Saitama." They dally around in a deserted warehouse, where they record their freestyle raps, all the while hoping to curry favor with a sickly former record producer. When they finally land a gig - their first - the other three chicken out, leaving Ikku the NEET, Mighty the farmboy (to whom 'bro' stands for broccoli) and Tom the titty bar footstool to pick up the pieces. In the film's centerpiece and its funniest scene, it turns out that the 'show' is actually an afternoon PTA meeting about the problems with local youth, and the trio have to come up with some serious freestyling when they are put forward as spokesmen for the young.
