Twenty years ago, in a gambling match between two masters, Heong Mo Ming suddenly appears to help his senior win and then disappears. The desire to avenge the loss plants the seeds for a longstanding grudge that extends to the next generation. Heong Mo Ming's two disciples, Sze Dan Gor and Sap Sam Mui, used to be lovers, but they separated after a misunderstanding. Chow Goon Jai, Chui Sui Man and Siu Sai Gor are taken in by Sze Dan Gor, while Sap Sam Mui carefully cultivates Sze Siu Dung, Ching Siu Bak and Wong Siu Nam. After multiple exchanges, Chow Goon Jai and Sze Siu Dung's feelings for each other turn from loathe to love. Later, they even combine forces to battle against the camp headed by To Dung Hoi and his son. Unfortunately, Chui Sui Man suddenly switches allegiances. Sze Dan Gor passes the baton to Chow Goon Jai. The drama is told in three separate folklore stories about love, lust, vanity, greed and selfishness.

{Changing Pins} - Male and female fraternal twins fall in love with different men with the same appearance. The older male twin has an homosexual affair with a Prince of the Liao Kingdom, while the female twin falls in love with a poor scholar.

{Judge Lu} - A poor scholar has an affair with a courtesan that resembles his wife.

{Chasing Fish} - A scholar becomes the object of affection to a fish spirit and human girl with the face.

After recovering from a long term illness, semi-retired popular singer Wah Fong Ying realizes that she has lived an unfulfilled life. With two failed marriages and estranged relationships with all of her children she lives a lonely life. Wanting to mend her relationship with her oldest daughter who resides in Taiwan, she travels there and meets Hong Kong photographer Ben Law, who is a fan of her. Ben is in Taiwan to fulfill his late wife's wish to have her remains returned to her ancestral home. Romance sparks between the two and soon each becomes the other's strength and support. Realizing that throughout her career she has never sung for her loved ones and with Ben's encouragement, Fong Ying decides to hold a last concert for her friends and family, but her daughter Tong Yan rejects her invitation to attend. Fong Ying proceeds on working on her concert and hires assistant Jinny Szeto and creative director Sean Song to help her produce the concert. Just as light seems to shine on Fong Ying again, darkness comes back into her life when Jinny finds out that Fong Ying was involve in an affair with her uncle in the past and Ben starts to suffer from hallucinations due to a brain tumor.

Minibus driver Kei Yat Sing failed to heed to his late father's advice and suffers a series of setbacks in his relationship and career.
