Hiroshige Akihisa works for a karaoke company. When he is interviewed about the past 30 years of Japanese music industry, he gets confused when he is asked about his high school student days. An incident happened 29 years ago that caused him to suppress his memories that have now come back.

On March 20, 1995, the Tokyo subway sarin attack took place. At that time, Akihisa was a high school student who got good grades and was well mannered, but the Tokyo subway sarin attack led him to face the death of someone he knew and shook his world. Around that time, he was suddenly called out by his classmate Suzuki Shotaro, whom he wasn't very close to. Shotaro asked him if he wanted to live vacantly into his adulthood and then die? Would he be happy living that type of life? Akihisa then joined Shotaro’s group and hanged out with them in Shibuya. One day, Shotaro is attacked by someone. Akihisa decides to take revenge on the attacker and begins to search for him.

Sayaka Ogino works as an editor at a women's fashion magazine. She does her job well and enjoys her work. Sayaka Ogino has a personality that is sincere and honest. She is married to Kazuma, who works at advertising agency. They have been married for 6 years. Kazuma appears to be a perfect husband. He is kind, understands Sayaka's work, and shares housework with her. One thing that bothers Sayaka about her husband is that he does not seem to want to have a baby.

Somehow, Sayaka Ogino gets betrayed by people she trusts. She then meets her first love Keiichi Akiyama from her high school days.

Samaru Ayuha is a high school student. She is honest and works hard at everything, no matter what. One day, she has trouble at a gyudon restaurant due to money. Miura Aoi is an indecisive guy with a timid personality who dislikes summer. He once aspired to become an architect, but his dream has faded as he lets the days go by working as an assistant in a small architectural firm in Tokyo. Seeing Onizuka’s unprecedented but visceral, powerful response to problem solving, the school’s president and principal, Sakurai Yoshiko, overrides resistance from her vice principal Uchiyamada Hiroshi and makes Onizuka a teacher. Onizuka goes on to tackle many issues as the teacher in charge of the most problematic class, Class 2-4.
