Mr. Sunshine centers on a young boy born into a house servant's family and travels to the United States during the 1871 Shinmiyangyo (U.S. expedition to Korea). He returns to his homeland later as a U.S. marine officer. He meets and falls in love with an aristocrat’s daughter. At the same time, he discovers a plot by foreign forces to colonize Korea.

The Unusual Family’ is about two country girls with different dreams. There is a girl from the countryside, named Kang Dan Yi (Lee Shi Ah). She wants to support rural communities. And, there’s Kang Sam Wol (Gil Eun Hye) who is happy to leave her hometown and has a dream of becoming one like Cinderella. With two different dreams, they both move over to Seoul. How would their life change in the near future?

The members are Cha Gun-Woo, Jang Moo-Won, Jang Min-Joo and Choi Tae-Pyeong. They will hunt down criminals and investigate crimes while undercover (hence the title).

In the countryside, at a Catholic Church, luxurious cars come rolling in. A wedding is set to take place between Ji Hong and Yu Ri. The couple met as music club members at their university. Their friends from their university days are all arriving, most of whom they haven't seen in 10 years.

Seung Ho is now a lawyer and married. Hyeong Woo is now a university professor who is persistently single. Kyeong Ho is now a PD at a television station. Seong Ju is now a businesswoman who brought along her boyfriend 12 years her junior. Min Hee has a stable family.

All of these friends are in the middle thirties. During the wedding, the friends notice that one person from their music club, Jeong Hee, is missing from the wedding. After the wedding, all the friends gather together at the vacation home operated by Ji Hong and Yu Ri. During the evening a young girl named Mi Rae appears at the vacation home. She informs the group that Yeong Hee was her mother and she died in a car accident one month ago. Furthermore, she tells everyone that she came here to meet her father. Tension, shock, and surprise then overtake the gathered friends as they recall their relationships with Yeong Hee.

Ha Dan Ah (Yoon Jung Hee) is very dignified and beautiful yet she also had a sad life. Dan Ah was married in her 20's, but her husband died in a car accident during their honeymoon. She will be pursued by two men, a man from a rich family, Lee Kang Suk (Park Shi Hoo) and a man who is younger than her, Jung Hyun Kyu (Lee Hyun Jin). The drama chronicles how the Ha Family upholds their aristocratic reputation.

This drama is about the pride and frustration of cardiac surgeons on the job. Lee Eun Sung graduated from a newly established medical school in the southern province and not from an elite one like the Hwang Hee University Hospital where he applied for residency with the hope of becoming a great cardiac specialist. Since he wasn't a graduate of Hwang Hee U., he was looked down upon by almost everyone at the hospital. Nam Hye Suk graduated with top marks and was regarded as a star student. She was an absolute fundamentalist and proud of herself. Dr. Choi Kang Gook became the new head of the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery after being in exile for 5 years for getting into trouble with his former superior. He was a genius but he was also a stubborn surgeon who does not care for hospital politics. It ended up only LES and NHS were the only doctors who applied for residency and they were accepted with great reluctance after being rejected outright by Dr. CKG.

Lee Dong Gwon, a famous actor, was admitted to the Hospital for arrhythmia surgery. He knew NHS from elementary school and was infatuated with her. Between him and LES, who would NHS choose?
