In the wake of prolonged famine, the palace arranges Princess Song Hwa’s marriage in an attempt to correct the cosmic misfortune. A renowned diviner, Do Yoon, is brought in to find the perfect husband who will have the best marital harmony with the princess. From candidates all over the country, four prospective husbands with different astrological signs are shortlisted.

However, the princess refuses to accept that her life partner will be chosen solely based on fortune reading and decides to check out the candidates herself before the final decision. As she sneaks out of the palace, Do Yoon finds out about this and follows after her.

In 1986, Park Gwang Ho works as an excellent and enthusiastic detective. His life changes when he’s pursuing leads in a serial homicide case and then passes through a time portal, which transports him to present day Seoul. He meets a new partner Kim Sun Jae, an elite detective who happens to be a bit eccentric, but is one highly skilled investigator. The detective duo will also find help in psychology professor, Shin Jae Yi.

When Yoon Jung Won is betrayed by family and friends who she completely trusted, the realization that humans are cruel dawns upon her. This show revolves around an insurance planner who is framed for a crime that she did not commit and tries to find justice after serving out her sentence in prison. There is a message of hope in the story in that while pain is inflicted on her by people around her, she eventually finds comfort and assistance from new people she encounters later.

In 1970s, during the height of political corruption, Gangnam, the southern part of Seoul is starting to be transformed into developed area. Childhood friends Jong Dae and Yong Ki struggled to get by, until their shanty homes are demolished by local thugs. Desperate for cash, they get involved in violent political clashes, and are separated during one for the skirmishes.3 years later, Jong Dae lives as an honest man with former gang leader Kil Su. Meanwhile, Yong Ki has joined Seoul’s most powerful criminal gangs organization, the Myeongdong-pa and as a member he has been entangled in a high stakes battle over lands in Gangnam, all in the name of putting together secret presidential election funds that drive up the value of the city. As the gangs fight over the rights to various plots, Yong Ki is captured and interrogated by a rival gang.

Jong-Dae (Lee Min-Ho) and Yong-Ki (Kim Rae-Won) grew up in an orphanage like real brothers. After they leave the orphanage, they make a living by picking up paper and empty bottles. Jong-Dae then becomes involved in a struggle of interests over development in Gangnam, Seoul. In the process, he lives with Gil-Soo (Jung Jin-Young) and Sun-Hye (Seol Hyun) as they accept Jong-Dae like a family member. Jong-Dae also becomes a gang member.
