This story is a mature, realistic adult love affair story that portrays people struggling between the institution of marriage and the instinctive feelings of first love, repeatedly engaging in infidelity and betrayal. Zaizen Honami, a preschool teacher living a happy life with her husband, is suddenly surprised when her friend Kaori Maria confesses to her that she is having an affair with her first love. To make matters worse, Honami is then left shocked when she discovers her husband’s infidelity. Hayami Honoka works in the sales department for a major consumer electronics company. She is excellent at her job and is respected by her colleagues. She seems like a clean freak at work and her colleagues think she is a perfect person to marry. But, in her private life, her home is a complete mess. Things there are unorganized and dirty. On the flip side, when she arrives at work, she looks perfect.

Meanwhile, Yamamoto Chihiro is Hayami Honoka's co-worker in the same department. He joined the company 3 years after Hayami Honoka. When he was a child, Yamamoto Chihiro and his two brothers did the housework at his home, while his mother was busy with her job. Because of this, Yamamoto Chihiro is excellent at doing household chores. Due to a case, he happens to learn that Hayami Honoka's home is a mess. He begins to stay with Hayami Honoka on the condition of doing the house work.

Megumi Soutome is a contract employee in the editorial department at a publishing company. She is invited by her colleagues to join them for a drink get-together, but Megumi Soutome declines their offer. She leaves quickly after work. The reason why she is in such a rush, is so she can have a "solo katasu." She enjoys solo activities like eating alone at restaurants, having her own party, and staying at love motels.

Arimura Kasumi suddenly gets a break from filming and returns to her hometown for the first time in a long while. Her mother Yumiko comes to the train station to pick her up and they head for the family home. She is idly chatting with her mother at home when a male stranger comes to visit. His name is Ueshima Makoto. He puts his hands together in front of Kasumi’s father’s tablet. Then her mother asks him to repair a bicycle. At Yumiko’s invitation, the three of them have dinner together.

Kimijima Hayato works for a big manufacturing company. He wants to be successful at his job and he is mentioned for a promotion, but he opposes the company undertaking a project led by his boss. This leads to Kimijima Hayato being demoted to a chief of general affairs position at a factory in the province. He is smart, good at sports and popular with both genders, but he has neither encountered hardships nor setbacks, and has nimbly made his way through an innocuous life. In fact, Miyata's way of life is far from the qualities of a police officer who protects the lives and possessions of citizens.

Yukari Hayasaka is a high school student who has become tired of her life of constant schooling. She then comes across a group of student fashion designers in need of a model for their "Paradise Kiss" clothing label. Yukari knows nothing about the fashion world and is taken back by the group's eccentric ways, but she soon comes to admire their free thinking ways and ability to pursue their dreams with a one track mind.
