Life, death and second chances take center stage in this story about three people whose intertwined destinies travel through space and time with haunting results. It’s the 1980s and Detective Cha Hyung Bin has devoted his life to criminal justice, and his heart to Ha Eun, a bookshop owner suffering from heart disease who keeps her illness a secret. But Cha Hyung Bin isn’t the only one pining after Ha Eun: serial killer Gong Ji Chul has also fallen in love with her. Their lives collide with tragic results, but 30 years later, they’re reincarnated and fate brings them together again. The more time passes, the more their new lives become tangled in the devastating web of history. Will they manage to escape the past, or be forced to come face to face with it?

This drama is about Yang Nam Jin (Park Yoon Jae), a normal young man from the countryside who is not satisfied with his fate and boldly challenges it to pioneer his own road.

Hae Won Maek, Gang Rim, and Duk Choon are about to take part in Soo Hong’s trial. However, to secure a trial, they are tasked with bringing the soul of an old man who is protected by House God within 49 days. Gang Rim accompanies Soo Hong, while Hae Won Maek and Duk Choon go down into the human world, where they discover that the House God knows of their forgotten previous lives.

After a heroic death, Kim Ja Hong navigates the afterlife with the help of three guardians Kang Rim, Haewonmaek, and Deok Choon. All deceased must meet the gods of hell and face trials of murder, indolence, deceit, injustice, betrayal, violence, and filial impiety over a period of 49 days. However, their plans of getting him through hell become even more challenging as a vengeful spirit exist and wreaks havoc on the real world. With the aid of his guardians and motivated by the idea of meeting his mother once more, Ja Hong and his guardians face obstacles and find reasons by journeying through his emotional past in order to clear him of any accusations and prove that he has lived a noble life.

When they try to free her from the demon’s powerful hold, they realize that this nameless evil is far more dangerous than they ever thought.

As a fusion drama on the life of politician Kim Doo Han, the drama tells the life of Kim Doo Han with fact and fiction. Kim Doon Han is the son of the great general Kim Jwah Jin, who fought for Korea against the Japanese during World War II. After his dad dies, Kim Doo Han trains in kung pao and learns to be a leader against the evil Japanese. He finds his own position as boss of the Jong Ro area in Seoul, and vows to protect his own Korean people. Goo Ma Juk, the boss of Seoul, fights against Kim Doo Han in an attempt to hand over the whole Seoul area to the Japanese redevelopment project, pursued by Hyashi. Hyashi himself is a Korean but he ironically lives as a Japanese fighting his own people. Through these many barriers, Kim Doo Han struggles to keep the Korean culture alive, later on becoming a politician after the Korean War.
