The film, set in the 1980s and 90s, chronicles the transformation of Bombay to Mumbai. The story is a cat and mouse game between a deadly don, Amartya Rao, who doesn’t think twice before killing, and there’s nobody who could stop him and a cop, who is dogging his every step.

Ko Eun-Bi (Ku Hye-Sun) is a medical student, but she dreams of becoming a musical actress. She thinks about musicals all day and even dreams about musicals at night. Hong Jae-Hee (Daniel Choi) comes back to South Korea. He used to compose songs for musicals, but now writes pop songs. His friend says that Jae-Hee changed because of his break-up with Bae Kang-Hee (Ok Joo-Hyun) 6 years ago. One day, Eun-Bi practices a song while out in a park and Hong Jae-Hee, who fell asleep in the park after drinking too much alcohol, is awaken by her singing. Jae-Hee tells Eun-Bi that he wrote the song "Maria Maria" that she is singing. Eun-Bi doesn't believe him. Jae-Hee advises her that without talent she shouldn't think of becoming a musical actress. Eun-Bi, ignoring Jae-Hee's opinion, decides to take time off from medical school to take part in numerous auditions. She fails all of them. With only 2 weeks left before she has to return to medical school Eun-Bi becomes desperate. She spots an audition advertisement looking for a male musical actor. Eun-Bi decides to take part in the audition dressing up as a man. Her ruse is discovered though by Yoo-Jin (Park Gi-Woong), an investor for musicals, and she is kicked out from the audition. In the bathroom of the audition, Eun-Bi meets a woman named Sa Bok-Ja (Park Kyeong-Rim). Bok-Ha insists she is a musical instructor and gives lessons to Eun-Bi. Bok-Ja even moves into Eun-Bi's apartment. Eun-Bi then decides to take a year off from school, believing that with lessons from Bok-Ja she can make her dreams come true.

Uryu Shinbei appeals his boss’s corruption and his appeal is denied. He is kicked out from the han. Shortly afterwards, his wife Shino collapses from a disease and dies. Right before her death, she tells Uryu Shinbei, "I hope you go back to the han and help Uneme Sakakibara.” Uryu Shinbei and Sakakibara Uneme were friends, but they became rivals to gain Shino's affection. Jao Sua Leng, the 2nd generation dragon heir to Mongkorn Waree. But Praosaeng wasn't able to escape the hitmen who came after her. Jao Sua was able to escape death this time because of Duangkae, his mistress. Lao Ngow was served with the allegation of trying to assassinate Jao Sua and was sentenced to life in prison. Daungkae backstabbed Lao Ngow because she wanted Manop, her 5 years old son with him to become the heir Jao Sua's fortune despite the fact that Manop is not Jao Sua's real son. Twenty years later, Yok, a young man with a bright future will soon graduate from the Royal Police Cadet Academy despite being an orphan and living in the slum. He was raised by an ex-boxer who now opened a school that teaches boxing to young kids. He told Yok that he discovered Yok's mother who was injured and decided to help her. He was able to save her until she passed away after giving birth to Yok. She refused to tell him the father of the baby, with only the red dragon jade by her side he named the baby, Yok.

An unusual blending of elements comes together in this crime story drawn from Japanese history. During the early Meiji period a number of “Dokufu” (Poison Women) committed a significant number of murders. These crimes were most often committed by wives on their husbands in order to be together with their lovers. At that time women were executed in the same manner as men, to wit: by being decapitated. This is the story of the most notorious of all, Takahashi Oden who, in 1879, was the last woman executed by decapitation in Japan.

The famous showdown at Kagiya corner has been told many times, but never before with the realism and intensity of this version scripted by Kurosawa Akira and starring Mifune Toshiro as the famed swordsman who must face his best friend as they are forced to take opposite sides in a vendetta caused by the murder of a family member. Told mostly in flashback as the avengers await the arrival of their quarry, this film displays true heroism in the face of fear as most of the combatants, while of the samurai class are not skilled swordsmen. They contrast sharply with the true warriors involved in this battle. Araki Mataemon (Mifune), who was not only a direct student of Yagyu Munenori, but the founder of his own sword style under the Yagyu name is a powerful force ready to assist his brother-in-law against the murderer's allies that include not only another noted sword teacher, but the deadly spear of Katsumi no Hanbei.

The Music Bank World Tour is a worldwide live concert tour of South Korean music show Music Bank by KBS. The tour stages live performances, featuring multiple K-pop acts, in various locations outside of South Korea.
