Based on the 2020 MBC drama special with the same title, a bittersweet yet healing story that takes place in a cafe only open from midnight to sunrise.

Michiru (Erika Toda) works at a book store in a small city. She has a boyfriend named Kyutaro (Tasuku Emoto), but falls into an affair with publishing company employee Toyomasu (Hirofumi Arai). Toyomasu visits the city from Tokyo. Michiru then plans to go to Tokyo with Toyomasu to eventually settle down there. Right before Michiru leaves for Tokyo, her co-worker asks her to a buy lottery ticket which she does. Later, Michiru finds out the lottery ticket she bought is the winning ticket of a 200 million yen prize. Her world is about to change. A man who claims to be Michiru's husband tells the story of her personal life. Michiru's long time friend Takei (Kengo Kora) is the only she trust in Tokyo, but Takei has something to hide. Meanwhile, Toyomasu goes missing. Her former boyfriend Kyutaro arrives in Tokyo to find Michiru, but falls into an incident. A murder takes place.

Mokomichi plays himself, the star of a cooking show. Each episode is set after his cooking show is broadcast. He goes on a date with a different woman each episode.

Housewife Onodera Mariya’s married life was supposed to have been happy, but turns out shortlived when her husband Tatsuya suddenly disappears without a trace one year later. While there she is beseeched by Nagai Akira to take over the island’s maternity clinic. Learning that there was a shortage of midwives, Kameko decided to set up the ideal maternity clinic down there. These two women of different generations meet in the southern islands. As Mariya is touched by the warmth of Kameko and the islanders, she slowly opens her heart to them and confronts the issues she has. 

Shunichi Minami (Taishi Nakagawa) possesses good looks and does well academically in high school. Chiyomi Horikiri (Maika Yamamoto) is a bright girl who likes dancing. They were childhood friends and also their first loves, but after Shunichi Minami’s father disappeared they hardly talk. On a storming night, Chiyomi Horikiri has an argument with her parents over her future course and leaves home. While trying to avoid the rain, Chiyomi Horikiri wishes that she go back to her childhood. Suddenly, Chiyomi becomes 15 cm. tall. Shunichi Minami happens to see tiny Chiyomi Horikiri. She tells him that she doesn't want anyone else to see her and Shunichi Minami takes her his home.

Thanks to a past trauma, Amane, a high school student, has given up on the idea of seriously loving anyone.

While confused, Atsuya writes a reply in place of the shopkeeper. The group keeps replying as another letter is sent, then another.

In accordance with Toshi's wish, Kenji becomes a teacher at a newly created agricultural school.

Kyoko Ogawa (Riho Yoshioka) is a woman in her 20's and she works at an underwear company. Because of her mother, Kyoko Ogawa has suffered from low self-esteem since she was a child. She is also shaken by two men: Kojiro Yoshizaki (Kenta Kiritani) and Ren Hoshina (Osamu Mukai). Kojiro Yoshizaki works as an editor for a manga magazine. He is bright, funny and a nice person. Ren Hoshina is a guy that Kyoko Ogawa dated when she attended college. Ren Hoshina was able to see her weakness and was controlling over her. At her job at the underwear company, Ren Hoshina appears in front of her as her boss.

Taizo Kitazawa (Baijaku Nakamura) works as a middle school principal. He has three children. His first child, Hirofumi (Yukiyoshi Ozawa), is 38 years old and works as a heart surgeon. His second child, Chiaki (Haru), is 27 years old and works as a lawyer. The youngest child, Shusaku (Ryosuke Yamada), is 25 years old and works as a police officer. He is ambitious and has a strong sense of justice.

In order to keep happiness in the Kitazawa family, the family uses any means they can. Shusaku comes into conflict between love for his family and professional ethics.
