Inogashira Goro continues eating his way across Japan on his lunch breaks. His tour of Japan's restaurants starts this time in Osaka.

Born to a poor family in Yamanashi prefecture, in the year of 1903 at the age of 10, Muraoka Hanako was accepted by a Missionary school in Tokyo. It was her father's Ando Kippei, greatest wish that his daughter gets a higher education. The Missionary school was attended by daughters from noble families, and as a charity case, Hanako was reminded by her father to never be inferior to her rich schoolmates. As the classes were carried out in English, Hanako faced a culture shock when she started school. Unable to understand the teachers nor able to grasp the conversation of her peers, Hanako resolved to work really hard at her studies.This drama follows Hanako from her childhood, through her years at the missionary school, to her life as a school teacher and finally as the translator of L.M. Montgomery's "Anne of Green Gables".

When Kiyoka Hinata (Airi Taira) was a university student, she met instructor Koki and they eventually married. One year ago, her husband Koki died in an accident. After her husband's death, Kiyoka stays home and never leaves.

One day, Kiyoka's father-in-law becomes hospitalized. Kiyoka must now run her father-in-law's small flower shop "Cat's Whiskers". The flower shop also has a cafe.

At the flower shop, there's a black cat named "Kumi-chan" which possesses her late husband's spirit. There's also part time employee Takumi (Kento Hayashi) who has a crush on Kiyoka. A strange love triangle takes place between Kiyoka, the black cat "Kumi-chan" and Takumi. Meanwhile, most of the customers come to the shop to solve their problems by talking to black cat "Kumi-chan".

The 45th NHK Taiga Drama is Komyo ga Tsuji.

Kazutoyo lived during the end of the Sengoku period (1546-1605). He was the first feudal lord of the fief of Tosa on the island of Shikoku. He served Nobunaga Oda, Hideyoshi Toyotomi and Tokugawa Ieyasu.

Chiyo (1557-1617) was his wife, and was known in history for her dedication and devotion to her husband (like Matsu was to Toshiie in Toshiie to Matsu). She is the daughter of a samurai who served the feudal lord Asai.

The middle-aged couple at the center of this drama somehow seems to pull through despite constant quarreling. The critical husband has clearly found his match in an equally combative wife, with one hilarious encounter after another revealing the love/hate relationship which typically underlies modern marriages.
