Butterfly Fragrance focuses on the early republican days, paying meticulous attention to the wardrobes of the period. Li Yi Feng plays a sweet, rich young master (which isn’t hard to imagine at all, if you catch my drift, those puppy eyes!), while William Chan takes on the cold, heroic, investigator. On the ladies’ side, Tang Yan embodies the spirit of a sweet, strong willed Chinese Woman, in contrast to the nobly charming young mistress of Shu Chang. Moreover, the two ladies often find their interests in conflict with each other (ha, like that’s new in dramaland.) Aside from that, the two families will battle over producing the best incenses in the area.

Another highlight of the series is the more-authentic-than-most rare Ming-styled half-waist ruqun‘s worn by many of the characters.

The plot of the story is based on the foreign settlement in Shanghai back in the year 1932. It is about the story of a ‘Spy Agent’ who uses the nickname ‘Athena’ who juggles between war of the country and family conflicts. Michelle Ye plays main lead as ‘Goddess of Revenge’ Liu Lizi, who appears on the surface as the top beauty attraction of the Bailemen entertainment house, but is in fact a female spy who has submerged among the Japanese officials in order to take the revenge for her family line.

Xiao Ao Jiang Hu is a wuxia novel by Jin Yong. The story is about friendship and love, deception and betrayal, ambition and lust for power. In the middle of it all is, Ling Hu Chong, an orphan who is the senior student of Yue Buqun, leader of Huashan Sect, and the protagonist of the story. The story deals with his journey and development as a swordsman and his witness to the various intrigues which take place in the martial world of the story.

The protagonist, Yang Guo, is the orphaned son of Yang Kang, the antagonist in The Legend of the Condor Heroes. The couple Guo Jing and Huang Rong raises Yang Guo briefly before he is sent to the Quanzhen Sect for better guidance in moral values and orthodox martial arts. In Quanzhen, Yang Guo is often picked on and bullied by his fellow students, and even his master, Zhao Zhijing, is biased against him. Yang Guo flees and ventures unknowingly into the nearby Tomb of the Living Dead, where the Ancient Tomb Sect is housed. He is saved by Xiaolongnü, a mysterious maiden of unknown origin, and becomes her apprentice. They live together in the tomb for many years until Yang Guo grows up. After being attacked by Li Mochou, they leave the tomb and stay on the mountain. Xiaolongnü develops romantic feelings for Yang Guo and after a while, he falls in love with her.

However, their romance is forbidden by doctrines of the Confucianism society of that time. Throughout the story, their love meets with several tests, such as the misunderstandings that threaten to tear them apart and the encounter with Gongsun Zhi. Finally, after their reunion and marriage, Xiaolongnü leaves Yang Guo again, owing to her belief she cannot recover from a fatal poison, and promises to meet him again 16 years later. While Yang Guo is wandering the jianghu alone, he meets several formidable martial artists and a giant condor. His adventures gradually mould him into a courageous martial artist, whose prowess matches the Greats of his age. Yang Guo serves his nation by helping the Han Chinese citizens of the Song Dynasty defeat the Mongol invaders. At the end of the novel, he is reunited with Xiaolongnü and they are recognized as heroes of their time.

The story of three childhood friends Ben, Paul and Frank who cruise the streets of Hong Kong circa 1967 and are members of a gang. Defiant and proud, they're also fiercely loyal to their families and each other, and will engage in street fist fights and other assorted lengths to prove it. When Ben decides to marry girlfriend Jane, Frank and Paul secure a loan to pay for the wedding banquet, but Frank is attacked by the local gang. Bloodied, he still arrives at the banquet with the money, but Ben isn't satisfied with letting things go. He goes after the responsible parties, and accidentally leaves one dead.

With the law after him, Ben is forced to flee to Saigon with his two friends. The three are supposed to deliver some illegal goods to a Mr. Leong, but things quickly go awry. The goods are lost in a terrorist bombing, and protesters and North Vietnamese sympathizers are shot without pity. Luckily, they have a contact: Eurasian mercenary Luke who helps the boys square things with Mr. Leong, but they're not satisfied with just completing their deal. Conflicts concerning money, love and friendship reveal the true personalities of the three.
