During the early 20's in Shanghai, there are many forces eyeing on the wealthiness of Shanghai. Besides internal forces (generals in the country as well as some wealthy businessmen are trying to conquer and monopolize the town), the Japanese are interested with this place. This story focuses on how Liu MoYuan (Nicky Wu) and Li JieYang (Li Wei) fighting for peace in their little town. Liu MoYuan and Li JieYang are not only rival in fighting for peace , but also love rival in fighting for Sung XiaoHe (Li JieYang childhood friend). Nicky Wu plays a bandit who is a Robin Hood type of character and eventually becomes a freedom fighter who opposes the colonizing Japanese.

The story of a couple who are staying together and contemplating marriage. The girlfriend Ji Qing however has certain fears towards marriage due to her family background and in an attempt to test the loyalty of her boyfriend Hao Ming, she gets another woman to get close to her boyfriend, which eventually brought changes to their relationship.

The Zhang family has four daughters. When their mother passed away, she left behind four special gifts for each of her daughters: Scarf, Mirror, Suitcase, and Pen. The daughters don’t have the slightest idea of what these gifts mean.

Their dad confessed that according to their mom, they will only understand the significance of these gifts when they experience happiness. But what is happiness? This is the mystery that the four daughters seek to find out.
