Choi Soo Jung has the role of the older brother of Bae Yong Joon in a drama that gives us the impact of having love for the first time. He plays the role of Sung Chan Hyuk who is gifted with artistic talent. Bae Yong Joon plays the character of Sung Chanwoo, who gives in his secret first love to his older brother and tries to become "a seed of the wheat" by sacrificing himself for the family’s happiness instead of going after his own ambition.

Chae Yul is an exemplary student who has a genius brother who gets all the attention in her family, which makes her feel inferior. But she also happens to pass by Mr. Yeon Jun, one of the school’s teachers. “This cologne… It’s the exact same cologne that the “Biter” was wearing!’ Now Chae Yul becomes highly suspicious of Yeon Jun. Her inexplicable karmic connection with Yeon Jun, the mystery teacher, begins. While Chae Yul is still confused by everything that is happening around her, four strange girls who call themselves the “Seonam Girl’s High School Detectives” bump into her. “We’re also victims of ‘Biter.’ Help us track him down,” the girls say. It was such an odd request and Chae Yul refused to join them, but she eventually finds herself helping the group find the offender. To their surprise, they uncover an uncomfortable secret that goes much deeper than they could have ever imagined!

The Great Seer begins during the reign of King Gongmin. But despite being about seers, geomancers, divinators and the like, this drama is less about the fantasy and more about the political movers and shakers — people who had the power to advise, and therefore control, kings. Ji Jin-hee plays Yi Seong-gye, the general who led the overthrow of Goryeo and established the Joseon Dynasty, becoming its first king. Mok Ji-sang (Ji Sung) is a gifted seer/geomancer, born with the ability to see into people’s pasts and futures. There are those who believe falsely that he has dark supernatural powers, thinking him possessed by ghosts. When he comes of age in the late Goryeo era, he becomes a scholar of divination, and a reader of geography, faces, and the like to tell fortunes — an area with much influence at the time. And Song Chang-ui plays the rival advisor. Lee Yoon-ji joins the cast as Ban-ya, a woman who was sold off as a gisaeng at a young age, but becomes a concubine to King Gongmin’s advisor, and bears a son. King Gongmin takes in that son as his, and the boy becomes King Woo of Goryeo — the king that General Yi dethrones in a coup d’état. 

Lee Yong Gu is a mentally impaired father with the intellect of a six-year-old, who lives in a run-down house along with his daughter of the same age, Ye Seung. One day, he gets into a physical altercation with the police commissioner, who has just purchased the last Sailor Moon backpack for his daughter, a gift Yong Gu was saving up to buy for Ye Seung. Soon after, the police commissioner's daughter dies in a freak accident while she is taking Yong Gu to another store that sells the same backpack. When he tries to resuscitate her, a woman witnesses him and mistakes him to be molesting her. Yong Gu is falsely accused of the abduction, murder, and rape of a minor. The police quickly take advantage of his disability and force him to admit to committing the crimes, while ignoring exonerating evidence. Yong Gu is imprisoned and assigned to Cell No. 7, the harshest cell in a maximum security prison.

Park Tae-joon is an intelligent law student and a filial son to his parents who runs a mill. His has a younger brother, Tae-soo not quite as academic still quite smart and a known brat in town, and a younger sister, the kind and gentle hearted Sun-hee. From the same town as Tae-Joon, Kim Mi-ja, his love interest is sick and tired of living in poverty and desires to leave their small town for a better life. One day after their father’s death, the family learns that they will lose their home as a pledge due to an assurance their father has made before his death.

From the poverty stricken post war era of the 1950s to the modern times of Korea, this TV-series follows a family and the surrounding characters who rode the drastic changes with passion.

The lonely and silent rider Tae-suk breaks in empty houses and lives a normal life while the owners are traveling. He does not steal anything and moves from house to house without any loss other than food, and he cleans the houses, provides small repairs or washes some clothes to pay for the hospitality. When he enters in the house of Sun-hwa, he does not see the woman that is wounded in her room after being beaten up on by her abusive husband Min-gyu Lee. Tae-suk helps the hurt woman and when Min-gyu returns, he hits the husband with golf balls and Sun-hwa leaves her husband with Tae-suk on his motorcycle. When they break in the house of an old man, they find that the man is dead and Tae-suk provides funeral service for him. However, his son returns and Tae-suk and Sun-hwa are arrested by two abusive police detectives. He is sent to prison and Sun-hwa is forced to return home. But she never forgets him.
