    Within a seemingly peaceful village, a plague of mysterious & violent deaths suddenly take place. The police conclude poisonous wild mushrooms are the cause of the deaths. Police Officer Jong Goo hears a rumor from a coworker about a mysterious Japanese man living nearby. The rumor fingers the Japanese man as the one causing these mysterious & violent deaths. Jong Goo, while on duty, meets Moo Myeong who tells him that she saw the Japanese man where the last deaths took place. Jong Goo's doubts about the man begin to waver. To his despair, his daughter Hyo Jin then comes down with the crazed symptoms similar to what the other villagers had before their deaths. Jong Goo heads out into the mountains to find the old Japanese man's home. Meanwhile, his mother-in-law calls in a shaman, Il Gwang, to perform an exorcism on Hyo Jin. Death lingers in the air.

    Ex-detective pimp Jeong Ho is angry because his girls keep disappearing without clearing their debts. One night, he gets a call from a customer and sends Mi Jin. But when Mi Jin meets the customer, Jeong Ho realizes the phone number of the customer matches that of the calls the missing girls got last. As something smells fishy, he searches for her. During his search, Jeong Ho dents a car in the alley. When Jeong Ho spots blood splattered on the driver’s shirt, he senses the man, Young Min, is the suspect. After an intense chase, Jeong Ho finally catches Young Min. But because of Jeong Ho’s pretense as a cop, they are both taken to the police station. At the station, he bluntly tells the policemen that he has killed the missing women, and the last girl, Mi Jin, may still be alive. As the police force is obsessed with a random search for corpses, Jeong Ho is the only one who believes Mi Jin is still alive. With only 12 hours left to detain the serial killer without a warrant, Jeong Ho’s hunt begins.

    Moo Yeol is a taekwondo instructor who falls for Eun Jae at first sight when she comes and asks him to help her find gold treasures at the agency. Hee Kyung is a tarot card master and Yong Soo is a manhwa shop owner who passes his days with no dreams nor hopes but gets involved in the gold hunting simply for fun. Moo Yeol, Hee Kyung, and Yong Soo gather together at the empty Inquiry Agency office and they discover a dead corpse in the basement. The four of them later decide to start a treasure hunting project.

    This is also a drama without a love story.

    As a fusion drama on the life of politician Kim Doo Han, the drama tells the life of Kim Doo Han with fact and fiction. Kim Doon Han is the son of the great general Kim Jwah Jin, who fought for Korea against the Japanese during World War II. After his dad dies, Kim Doo Han trains in kung pao and learns to be a leader against the evil Japanese. He finds his own position as boss of the Jong Ro area in Seoul, and vows to protect his own Korean people. Goo Ma Juk, the boss of Seoul, fights against Kim Doo Han in an attempt to hand over the whole Seoul area to the Japanese redevelopment project, pursued by Hyashi. Hyashi himself is a Korean but he ironically lives as a Japanese fighting his own people. Through these many barriers, Kim Doo Han struggles to keep the Korean culture alive, later on becoming a politician after the Korean War.
