Nestled deep in the heart of Seoul’s thriving downtown sits a curious hotel, the like of which no one has ever seen before. Old beyond measure, the building has stood for millennia, an ever-present testament to the fact that things are not always what they seem. Running this hotel is Jang Man Wol, a greedy, suspicious soul who has spent the past thousand years acting as the establishment’s CEO. Cursed for a sin she can no longer remember committing, Man Wol is doomed to spend all of the eternity running this odd establishment, catering to the needs of a most peculiar clientele. Her only hope of escape is to find someone who has committed a worse sin than her own but after a thousand years, she’s beginning to lose hope.
However, things take an interesting turn when Goo Chan Sung shows up. Once the youngest assistant manager ever to work at a multinational hotel corporation, Chan Sung finds himself forced to manage the Hotel del Luna because of a deal his father made with Man Wol years ago. A stickler for rules and regulations, he’s a perfectionist to the extreme but that may be exactly what this odd establishment and its cursed CEO needs.
Set in the 1940's when Korea was under Japanese occupation. Korean people were banned from speaking their own language during that time.
Pan Soo has been imprisoned several times and it is nothing special for him to go there. He does not know how to read or write the Korean language. One day, he steals Jung Hwan’s bag to help pay for his son's tuition fee. Jung Hwan is the son of a wealthy Korean family who is pro-Japanese. Yet, Jung Hwan is a representative of the Korean Language Society. By meeting Jung Hwan, Pan Soo's life soon changes. They work together to publish a Korean language dictionary.
Set during the Korean War, North Korean and Chinese prisoners of war are sent to a camp on Geoje Island in South Korea. The POW camp itself is under intense strife between prisoners who are pro-communist and anti-communist. Roh Ki Soo is a young North Korean soldier held at the Geoje POW Camp.
Meanwhile, Sergeant Jackson is ordered by a superior officer to form a tap-dancing team from the POW camp. He holds an audition in the camp and selects Chinese soldier Xiaofang, South Korean Kang Byung Sam, who was falsely accused of being a communist sympathizer and civilian Yang Pan Rae, who wants to support her family. Sergeant Jackson also recognizes the immense talent Rho Ki Soo has for dance. Soon, the "Swing Kids" are formed, but will their dreams of dancing come true?
