During the reign of Emperor Renzong of Song, Shaun Tam takes office as the magistrate of Kaifeng. Shaun, his adviser Raymond Cho, bodyguard Owen Cheung, and four bailiffs work together to combat crooked trends. Nancy Wu, the daughter of a merchant, is an eloquent speaker and receives guidance from Raymond as she becomes a lawyer. Elaine Yiu, a maid from Gaochang, is skilled in autopsies. The two women help the seven men of Kaifeng solve many cases. But there are many dangers lurking within Kaifeng. The tyrannical Henry Li repeatedly tries to harm Shaun. The drama is told in three separate folklore stories about love, lust, vanity, greed and selfishness.

{Changing Pins} - Male and female fraternal twins fall in love with different men with the same appearance. The older male twin has an homosexual affair with a Prince of the Liao Kingdom, while the female twin falls in love with a poor scholar.

{Judge Lu} - A poor scholar has an affair with a courtesan that resembles his wife.

{Chasing Fish} - A scholar becomes the object of affection to a fish spirit and human girl with the face.

During a high-speed motorboat chase with a criminal, Cheung Chau police officer Wong Tai Mui gets herself trapped in a waterspout, accidentally opening a time portal. She travels back 200 years to 19th century Hong Kong, a time when the island was under Qing rule. She encounters a family of Canton pirates, led by Cheng Yat, his wife Shek Giu, and their adopted son Cheung Po Tsai. Using her knowledge of the future, which she keeps in a smartphone, she saves the pirates from a deadly naval battle against the Qing naval fleet led by Prince Man Ho, the eleventh son of the Jiaqing Emperor. Puzzled by her mysterious origins, Cheng Yat and Shek Giu remain wary of Tai Mui and are hesitant in trusting her.

At Beijing's Imperial Palace, Imperial Consort Yim and Imperial Consort Shun manipulate Man Ho to get themselves into a position of a higher power. Jaded from politics and family feud, Man Ho decides to let go of his ambition for the crown and flees the palace.

Find the Light ((Chinese: ??•?•??) literally Hero-Sword-Youth) is a 2003 TVB historical costume drama, set in the Qing dynasty. Consisting of 20 episodes, it was broadcast from September 8, 2003 to October 3, 2003, in the prime 8:00 to 9:00 pm weekday slot. The theme song was sung by Francis Yip. The series uses dramatic irony in its telling, the two main protagonists being based on historical figures.Following its humiliation in the First and Second Opium Wars Qing China attempts to modernise its military, part of this modernisation being the belated creation of a modern military academy. Despite secretly being a revolutionary Chan Do Yeung (Damian Lau) is chosen to be principal of the academy and agrees, on the proviso that he be allowed to admit Han students. Among the first intake of students are a scion of a noble family Tam Chi Tung (Bosco Wong) and a commoner Wong Ng (Ron Ng), despite their differences the two become bosom friends. Also amongst the students is Cheuk Lan (Shirley Yeung), a princess belonging to a cadet branch of the ruling family. Cheuk Lan's father is Sok Yi Suen (Lau Kong) with ultimate responsibility for the academy, believing that the Empire is a Manchu one, he orders his followers in the academy to make things as hard as possible for the Han students with the aim of failing them. Chan Do Yeung however takes an interest in Wong, who is the son of a deceased friend, and accepts him as a formal disciple, he stumbles though with Wong's training, for although possessing great strength Wong finds it impossible to use his strength in combat. Initially at odds with one another Wong and Cheuk Lan fall in love, however he is unable to graduate from the academy, and instead becomes a head of an escort agency. Chan Do Yeung's secret is discovered, although willing to serve the sinicized Manchu to defend China against a common enemy, the Manchu have him ambushed and killed. Finally having found a weapon to suit his great strength, the dadao, Wong Ng arrives to late too save his master but is able to avenge him.

During the Qing dynasty in Beijing, a powerful empress took over the throne.The story focus on four different families. The Chai family, Chai Hok Yan, who was betrayed by other officials and the whole family was sentenced to death. Chai Pak Chuen was the only survivor in the Chai family because a loyal assistant of his switched identities with him. Pak Cheun changed his name to Fan Chi Chai and traveled to a different city to start a new life. That's when he met the Kiu family. Kiu Bun Yip, is a successful business banker, however, he also has enemies, including the Cho family. Bun Yip invited Pak Chuen to his bank Ding Fung Shing to learn about banking. At the same time, he met Cheung Shung Man, the two of them became best friends.

The series follows Man Ming and Woh Kaau Chi who grew up together since babies. Once all grown up, Man Ming and Kaau Chi were curious about the martial arts world, so they venture out into jianghu.
