Twenty years ago, in a gambling match between two masters, Heong Mo Ming suddenly appears to help his senior win and then disappears. The desire to avenge the loss plants the seeds for a longstanding grudge that extends to the next generation. Heong Mo Ming's two disciples, Sze Dan Gor and Sap Sam Mui, used to be lovers, but they separated after a misunderstanding. They each train disciples who are proficient in various gambling techniques and skills. Chow Goon Jai, Chui Sui Man and Siu Sai Gor are taken in by Sze Dan Gor, while Sap Sam Mui carefully cultivates Sze Siu Dung, Ching Siu Bak and Wong Siu Nam. After multiple exchanges, Chow Goon Jai and Sze Siu Dung's feelings for each other turn from loathe to love. Later, they even combine forces to battle against the camp headed by To Dung Hoi and his son. Unfortunately, Chui Sui Man suddenly switches allegiances. Sze Dan Gor passes the baton to Chow Goon Jai. The story takes place on an ancient mountain – Black Mountain, when a group of workers come to construct a road, causing the ancient spirits, ghosts and humans to enter into conflict. Rumors of spirits causing trouble prompt the workers to leave the mountain, leaving only a hardworking young man by the name of Ning Cai Chen, a strong believer of science to stay on to construct the road for the villagers. However, an incident in Ning Cai Chen’s childhood is a memory he is afraid to recall – the sight of his father dying in the hands of an evil spirit. Xiao Qian is a young leopard cat spirit eager to outshine the grand fox spirit to gain the respect of the powerful century tree spirit. She volunteers to get rid of Ning Cai Chen only to realize that they share an intertwined fate and finds herself saving him instead. The old ghost hunter Summer Snow Wind Lightning sets foot upon the mountain to stop the spirits from creating mischief and to chase Ning Cai Chen off the mountain as he is afraid that the seal laid down on the mountain by his master will be destroyed. The spirit of Black Mountain will then be released and it will be catastrophic for mankind. Filled with hatred, the Black Mountain Spirit seeks to take revenge on mankind and swears to kill all couples in love. Tony Leung Ka Fai and Danny Lee star in the 1990 police thriller Blue Lightning. When model Jody and her boyfriend are brutally murdered in their apartment, the case falls into the hands of Superintendent Chung (Tony Leung) and rookie cop Tit Nam (Cheng Wai Lun). With the help of alcoholic ex-husband Lam (Danny Lee), a former cop who left the force after divorce, they locate Jody's ex-roommate Ellen (Olivia Cheng), but she refuses to cooperate. Lam and Chung are also having trouble cooperating with each other as they have very different investigating methods and frequently derail into argument.
