Mitazono Kaoru is a superb housekeeper who belongs to Musubi Housekeeping Agency. Although he is a male in an industry dominated by females, he handles housework such as cleaning, laundry, cooking and babysitting perfectly. However, it is not just the dirt in the house that Mitazono cleans. He learns the family secrets and exposes the family for who they really are. Then he gives the last push that breaks up relationships. However, this becomes the catalyst for the family to start again and solve the problems they have. This time Mitazaono is in the service of a family that drills for oil in Arabia. He is summoned back to Japan by Musubi Yoriko and is tasked with teaching her newphew Murata Hikaru to stand on his own two feet. And so Mitazono takes Hikaru and the young housekeeper Onda Moe and act as a trio.

Toyama Kinshiro is a 30-year-old newly-appointed police chief at Kitamachi Police Station who firmly believes his mission as a policeman is to listen to every voice of innocent citizens and protect the peace in the community. He comes off as aloof and a bit quirky at first, but in fact he has brilliant investigative instincts and spots clues that no one else can detect. Unlike his elite career bureaucrat colleagues, Kinshiro doesn't dress or act like a stereotypical Chief Police. Rather than sitting behind a desk, Kinshiro leaves the office and literally goes around town to do the investigation work, and go the extra mile to solve any crime regardless how small or trivial. However, his unorthodox approach generates a lot of antagonism from his subordinates at Kitamachi Police Station.

Tomonaga Ranmaru, Kamekanbo Hikaru and Miyazawa Kanji, who happened to meet through a strange turn of events, ride in a car to eat and sleep at hot spring inns as they journey across Japan in search of an enigmatic hot spring geisha called Miyabi.

Hanasaki Shinichiro is a former police detective who now runs the “Smiling Garden” day nursery in downtown Tokyo. She begins to wonder if what she has been seeing are precognitive dreams. And yet it somehow seems different. The situation grows more bizarre for her when Yohei, whom she knows is married to Tamura Yumi, asks her out to dinner. Meanwhile, Tamura Yumi, who is troubled that her husband may be cheating on her, sees Nakano Yumi hear a traumatic truth from Ikuko in her dream … … She died two years ago! Worrying that this might portend the future, she goes in search of the advertising agency which appeared in the dream. Although she does not know Nakano Yumi’s whereabouts, she confirms the existence of the advertising agency and Nakano Yumi’s boss. Then she tries to send a message through to Nakano Yumi with the request to find out when and how she died … … Startling situations occur in quick succession, and the two Yumis are seized with a fear beyond words.

Wataru Honjo is a veteran suit actor who resents popular young actor Ryo Ichinose for getting the role of Black Dragon in an upcoming film version of Dragon Four, a role he had wanted to play himself. He also becomes convinced Ryo has no respect for the genre. Hostilities continue on the set of the movie, but eventually the two men start to gain respect for each other and even start to form a friendship.

Soon, Ryo is given the starring role in an upcoming Hollywood movie titled "Last Blade" being shot on location in Japan. However, production is eventually halted when a stunt actor quits abruptly, refusing to film a dangerous scene in which his character fights a team of ninjas while engulfed in flames. The foreign staff members are left in the lurch, but they soon decide to call in the man they've heard is the best stunt actor in Japan - Wataru Honjo.

News comes out that several people found 1 kg of solid gold in their mail boxes. Yamabuki Maya moves back to her hometown and surprises the movers by the amount of money she gives them.

After settling in her hometown, Maya one day takes the city train and sees former high school classmate Michigawa Tamotsu driving the city train. He tells her wistfully that he initially hoped to drive trains all around the world, but is now resigned to driving the city train. Several days later, Tamotsu receives a package from Maya with money and a map of the world railway system.
