Kujo Rina is a chemistry teacher and the homeroom teacher for the 3rd grade D class at Horai High School. She doesn't have a bond with her students. On the school's graduation day, Kujo Rina is pushed from the 4th floor and falls down. She is able to glimpse a school uniform sleeve on the person that pushed her. At that time, she wonders why she was pushed and that she does not want to die.

The next moment, Kujo Rina is standing in front of her students, and she has travelled back in time to one year earlier. She knows that one of the 30 students in front of her will try to kill her in a year. To find the truth about what will happen and to avoid her death, she approaches her students with all her heart. Meanwhile, Ugumori Kanau is one of Kujo Rina’s students in the 3rd grade D class. She is a model student, but she experiences a miserable school life due to her classmates targeting her.

Ban Hikari has a genetic disease and has been given a year to live. Determined to make the most of the time she has left, she decides to bid farewell to everyone while secretly jotting down her aspirations in a notebook. Hikari's goal is to transform the remaining time into a remarkable journey, striving to turn each day into her best day ever.

Consequently, those around her affectionately refer to her as the "Positive Monster." Hikari's penchant for undertaking audacious endeavors and embracing eccentricities not only attracts people to her but also inexplicably captivates everyone. Amidst her endeavors, Hikari finds herself entangled in an inexplicable bond with Fujiwara Taishi, a student from Class 3D, whom she deeply admires and loves.

The story begins when three boys living in a rural town learn about the news that their classmates who transferred to junior high school will appear in a love reality show.

A small theatre troupe, "ENGINE," has its rehearsal hall in a dirty building near Tsutenkaku Tower, in Osaka.

The young members of the troupe, including their lead actress Yamaguchi Mai, are working hard on their rehearsals, even skipping their sleep as the Tokyo performance is just around the corner.

The piece they are working on this time is "DICE," the troupe's most famous work. It is a deeply memorable work for the troupe, which was first performed 10 years ago and will make its first performance in Tokyo soon.

Therefore, the leader of the troupe, Mr Shigemori, is more enthusiastic than usual, but he is not satisfied with the performance of the troupe members and is becoming increasingly dissatisfied.

Then... Mai discovers a VHS videotape labelled "DICE" in the company's archives. It contained rehearsal footage of the first performance 10 years ago... As soon as Mai and her friends see the videotape, strange and inexplicable phenomena begin to occur around them...

To gain the confidence to confess to his crush, Yashiro visits a secluded shrine for 100 days straight. This earns him the attention of the enshrined deity and his fox attendant Ukon who follow Yashiro on the 100th day to see how the confession turns out. However, they are surprised to see him confess to a guy, Yashiro's longtime friend Kenta, only for Kenta to turn him down. Although heartbroken, Yashiro tries to joke around with Kenta, but he accidentally gets killed when a truck runs into him.

Yashiro awakens in the presence of the shrine's god and Ukon, and as a show of gratitude, the god decides to restore him back to life to give him a second chance with Kenta. In doing so, the god grants his wish to be reborn as a high school girl and gives her the name Kagura Tendou. However, she soon discovers that the god and Ukon plan to watch over her relationship with Kenta, although she's the only one who can see and hear them.
