Aiba Soichiro works in the tax department at city hall. His job is to get people to pay taxes that are past due. For that, he evaluates their financial situation and visits their home. Sometimes he seizes their property and urges them to pay their tax. While dealing with tax issues, he approaches them with his heart and tries to find ways to help them. Soichiro Aiba used to be a bureaucrat in the Ministry of Finance, but, for some reason, he quit his job there and began working as a tax collector.

Yae, an unremarkable girl working in a café and living with a friend, finds herself unable to afford rent when her friend suddenly gets married, and she loses her job in the same day! It’s only when her boyfriend dumps her that she finally hits rock bottom.

She’s at her wits’ end when her childhood friend Takumi suddenly reappears into her life. Takumi suggests that Yae take on a part-time job as his “fake wife” for the next six months. He has his reasons for wanting people to think he’s married. Yae has no other choice but to accept his proposal, and in return receives housing and living expenses for playing the role of his “fake wife.”

So begins a “fake marriage” with a time limit. Unbeknownst to Yae, she was Takumi’s first love, even though she thinks of him as nothing more than a childhood friend. Takumi struggles awkwardly but earnestly to win Yae’s heart and find true love. Even though their marriage starts as a sham, will the day come when this couple can become something more?

Kisara Hanae, a girl who retired from karate due to an accidental injury and was at the bottom of her life, meets Ashida Haruki, the songwriter of a song she used to listen to before every match. But he is now a failed musician, a one-hit wonder, and a weirdo with a lot of problems! Hanae's childhood friend, Natsukawa Shingo, who is always watching over her gets involved and a love triangle develops. Hanae has a "secret" that she can't tell anyone, and decides that "this is the last love of her life".

Kageyama Nobuhiro is a singer-songwriter who has a big trauma from past romance; Iizuka Masaki is a theatre actor who falls in love too easily; while Malik Johnson Jr. is a pure aspiring manga artist. These three clumsy and unpopular boys live in a share house which has been renovated from a church and will struggle as they explore various types of love as assistants to a romance influencer.

The novelist Shiraishi Kiyoshi (Yasuda Ken) receives a letter from a mother who has a son with a stuttering problem. She asks Shiraishi in the letter if he would encourage her son to not be daunted by his stuttering. Shiraishi thinks about his own childhood and decides to talk to his editor Nomura (Fuma Kikuchi) about writing his personal story. Muroi (Fukikoshi Mitsuru), an editor who is Shiraishi’s senior, picks up on his intentions. Shiraishi has had a stuttering problem since his youth, particularly the “ka” and “ta” columns of syllables and even stumbled over his own name. He transferred schools a number of times due to his father Kenichi’s (Mashima Hidekazu) work and was laughed at by classmates each time he introduced himself. The strain of transferring schools got to him in the first grade of elementary school. Even when Shiraishi was asked by his mother Yoko (Kanjiya Shihori) what present he would like for Christmas, he could not pronounce the name of the game he wanted because it started with the letter “gi”. Unable to convey his feelings to friends and family in words, Shiraishi wished for friends who could talk about anything. He mistook the hymn Kiyoshi Kono Yoru, better known as Silent Night in English, as Kiyoshiko no Yoru and the imaginary Kiyoshiko was his ideal friend. However, in reality, his Christmas became a day of miserable memories. He eventually wrote about the frustrations that he suffered in Kiyoshiko. Besides the title Kiyoshiko, Shiraishi also wrote about his exchanges with the lonely Occhan (Chihara Seiji) in Donguri no Kokoro, and about his decision to leave both his family and the university student (Fukuchi Momoko) who liked him, for further studies in Tokyo and his departure for the metropolis in Tokyo. Even though he still stutters as an adult, he has a pleasant life with his wife Saori (Nishida Naomi).

Keisuke Yoshimaru enjoyed watching drama series and wanted to become a screenwriter. He took part in contests to become a TV screenwriter, but he failed. Eventually, he gave up on his dream and began working at a real estate company. There, he met Nami as a client. She was a single mother and worked at at bookstore. They fell in love and married. Nami also wrote a novel that became a best seller. She is now a 39-year-old best-selling writer. Meanwhile, Keisuke won a contest to become a drama series screenwriter at the age of 32 and he quit his job at the real estate company. He is now 37-years-old, but he doesn't have any projects to work on. He takes care of the kids and does housework. One day, Keisuke gets his big break. He gets the chance to write the screenplay for a prime time drama series after the main screenwriter quits. He is excited and begins work on the script. At first, Nami worries if Keisuke is able to write the screenplay, but she sees how hard he works and begins to support him.

"Babel Kusaku" is a 5 story, 88 year old multi tenant building. Kusaku Mitsuhiro is the building's new managed. While dreaming of becoming a screenwriter, he gets lost in Babel where a false world where all dreams came true can be accessed. Like him, the tenants of Babel are all people who had to give up their dreams in the real world. Those who got lost, wish to stay at Babel forever. However, once you say the word "Babel", you can never return to the real world.

Eventually, Koichi moved overseas and changed his name, becoming a professional swindler. One day, Koichi finally meets his family's killer again. He then returns to Japan to take his revenge.

With next year's university entrance exams looming, high school senior Yoshiyama Mihane is beginning to feel the blues. She recently joined the school's photography club. As she walks by the science lab one day after school, she smells the aroma of lavender. From that moment on, she acquires the ability to leap freely through time and the days ahead are marked with bizarre occurrences...

Fukamachi is Mihane's classmate and childhood friend. Or at least that's what everyone thinks. The truth is, Fukamachi came from the future, where he is a brilliant researcher who develops a drug that enables time leaps. He uses the drug to visit the year 2016 but loses it and is unable to return for the time being.

Her romantic feelings for a boy that came from the future lasts but a few days, and those memories are now beginning to fade.

The drama will use an original story that differs from the manga, revolving around 12 people who obtain a “future diary,” which allows them write down “predictions” of the future that will come true. However, they are all part of a game of survival, in which they must use their diaries to try to kill each other and be the last one remaining, earning a place on the “God’s seat.”

Okada plays Hoshino Arata, a lazy college student who doesn’t believe in spending effort or working toward the future. One day, he gets a diary (the “future diary”) on his mobile phone, and he becomes involved in the game of survival.
